Do long distance relationships work?

I grew up in a very sheltered household, and only recently my crush all the way through highschool recently admitted that she actually liked me as well, and still does, but she hadn't made any moves cause she thought I had the same ideas about young age relationships as my parents did.

Problem is, I stayed in the U. S., and she moved to Germany with relatives. She regularly send pics and we always chat and flirt and have a good time, but we're both pretty happy where we are, and neither of us really wants to move.

I'm not sure how far I want to or even can go with this, cause even though we already talked once and basically said "yeah unfortunately this won't work", we're still talking the whole time

"neither of us really wants to move." Therefore it can't work quit torturing yourself. LDR never work unless you're willing to close the distance asap. I've done it a few times and closed the distance asap and it worked. Once or twice we didn't and it was over.

Rarely if ever…. You think it would be better with FaceTime and Zoom but Results have not changed for the better. Risk is high…

It did for 2 years for me. However, it was a pain in the ass. I am not saying it wasn't worth it, but man, it sucks the life out of you. In person is seemingly better. Not saying long distances can't work out or anything.
