My father beat on my mom when I was a child so I am estranged from him. So with that being said I would choose not having any friends at all. It says a lot about you as a person to not have any friends at all. Throughout your whole entire life you couldn't make one friend? It says you may not be able to maintain a relationship with anyone which is a problem vs being estranged from family members. There is probably more than likely a good reason why that person is estranged from them. Could be abuse. Could be abandonment. But it's not as much as a red flag as being without friends.

If I had to pick one I’d pick the estranged family but even that is circumstantial in my opinion. I’ve only encountered a handful of people in my life who were in that situation and in each case except for one, they all had good reason. Family can be really toxic.

I agree with laura here, each alone is not even a red flag.

Take me for instance, at my age everyone is busy with their family , so no frends, and my parents were religious fanatics... it can happen to anyone and despite no frends and no family i am a babe magnet! No red flag because each has a reason.

I have seen a lot of family members stick together through some truly wild stuff. And I've seen how flakey people are with their friends.

If you're going through it and not even your FAMILY is down to help you; there is ALWAYS a reason.

While I did vote on this, I don’t think either should be a red flag without added context. It would be unfair to judge a person based on either of these alone. Information about the person’s character, social skills, upbringing etc are needed.

Someone who doesn’t have enough money for himself. Like you don’t need to be rich, but you should be have responsibility for your own self.
