It doesn’t, unless they allow it to affect their relationship. So the only person that is responsible for allowing that to happen is the partner with the messed up family. I didn’t grow up with the best family , but I never allowed my family to interfere in any of my relationships. When I get into a relationship with a girl , she becomes my top priority over my family and friends etc.. ’ hoping she does the same for me. If any of my family members or friends’ attacked my partner , they will be dealing with me. I knocked out my older brother once because he got into my girls’ face and told her to shut her fucking mouth , when all she was trying to do was calm everyone down from fighting and arguing. My older brother was a druggie and a user that was mooching off of my retired parents’ that just wanted to live the rest of their lives in peace , but tmy POS older brother , didn’t give 2 shits about anyone but himself , even though I loved him , the drugs ruined him. So the second he got into my exes face , is the second I dropped him. I got laid good that night lol So if you are in a relationship with someone that has a toxic family , Your partner should be prioritizing you over everyone else , if they aren’t? Then you should really reconsider that relationship, because you will be miserable and not feel accepted by that family at all

There’s a guy I was chatting with (M45 single never married, never “serious” with anyone, mama’s little boy) who claimed that a girl should be made to live with her dad so she doesn’t end up with daddy issues. Mind you, he was saying this to a single mom who raised all her kids on her own (male and female) to be well balanced etc. without any help from her unsupportive family or the deadbeat ex who took her life savings and ran with it. how someone treats there family is a really telling sign not only does it show how your future marrige will end up but it shows that if that person cannot care for someone they live with daily then they will not be able to do any better for you. Most abusive relationships start with the guy or girl being rude to everyone but the person they like then when they get married the abuse is focused on them breaking them away from family and so fourth so complete control is enacted on that persons life

Well I'm kicked out of my father's side due to my grandmothers stupidity. She married someone her father didn't like so my dad's kicked out and so am I. They have treated me like im lower than a dog. They beat me burn me cut me slam my head into things and strangled me. i have PTSD from it. I'm terrified of dating because they will reject me for having PTSD and having to go therapy for the abuse. I never tell anyone I have it. But if I ever date and bring her to my apartment she's going to wonder what those meds are for. Then I'll have to tell her and she'll probably leave. Then I'm alone again. I don't think any woman will ever understand my illness and how it's effected my life. I believe that we are the continuation of what we were and who raised us, just like it's impossible to look fairly at the present world without looking at History. Though I also believe it's everyone's duty to make use of past errantry to build a healthier future, exactly like people, govs and countries. But I wouldn't say there is any universally accepted meaning in what is exactly that healthier future.
