Is my girlfriend not really making the best effort to celebrate my birthday or am I just overthinking it?

My girlfriend and I were talking about my upcoming birthday recently and what we’re gonna go do. However, something she said that kinda gives me mixed feeling is that because of her busy schedule at work it would have to be on a certain day of the week like on a Saturday.

But I don't know I feel like it’s kinda weird for her to say that instead of making an effort to get a day off for us to do something. Like part of me just things the right thing would have been if she said something like “I’ll try to request a day off from work to celebrate” instead of being like “naw it can only be on certain days that fit my work schedule”.

What do you guys think? Like I feel like it kinda rubs me the wrong way but at the same time I could very honestly just be overthinking things and of course you guys can be 100% honest if you think I might be. I don't know I just feel like there’s a difference between trying to request a day off and not even really trying at all.

I could also be possibly biased since Saturdays (the day she suggested) are like the busiest days at my own work and kinda the hardest to get off.

The important part of your question was when I read that Saturday is YOUR busiest day at YOUR work. Sounds like she didn't even give that any consideration.
When I was working and it was someone's birthday, we made a reservation for the day of their birthday and we were all together having a great celebration. 🎉🎂🎉
But if it's just going to be the two of you I don't see why she can't celebrate your birthday on your birthday 🥳🎂🤷🏼‍♀️
