I was in a relationship just like this on and off for 6 years! It was the relationship from hell!
I finally figured out what was keeping me tethered to a guy who didn't want to lose me but made me feel like an object to him.

I don’t know your relationship with this guy completely so my comment may or may not be right or wrong. but most times Girls’ assume a guy just wants her for sex and nothing more, and yes that can be true sometimes to a certain extent , but it isn’t always true , because guys’ look at sex differently than most females’ do. What most females’ don’t understand is intocy and affection is important to most of us men , intimacy and affection is a way a guy shows his love and appreciation for a girl he loves and adores , Most Guys’ don’t express their emotions and feelings like females’ do , Guys’ tend to hold it in more than females’ do. So if he was always by your side as much as possible , whether he was there just watching tv or whatever , if his presence was always near you , then he might of actually loved you and you didn’t see it , Now if you barely saw his presence and he was always choosing his friends and keeping distance from you and barely seeing you , then yes he was probably just using you for sex. So ask yourself this question? Was he with you a lot or barely with you?
