Do you think that these kinds of love shows are exploitation of people with disabilities?

No. If shows that had people with disabilities were seen this way, they would be cancelled and that would mean the people on them would not have equal rights. They deserve to have TV shows just like anyone else.
What would be exploitive would be if the people creating the shows were not giving the people on them fair pay and were, instead, ripping them off to make tons of money off them. Or if the actual focus of those shows was to make fun of disabled people. Which they are not.
Not necessarily. I think the people participating are high-functioning Down's folk, and they all have families who are looking out for their rights and how they appear on TV. This show makes money for them too.
There are enough watchdogs that I believe this is fine for those who want to watch. Think about all those other reality shows. Weren't they exploitative too? Very hard to avoid.
I think the title is funny, but I don't watch them so I don't know.
I think most reality shows are catered to create false impressions and drama but I don't think that counts as Exploitation plus they sign to be in it and it would be wrong to say all disabled can't make that choice themselves though I'm sure some can't. Which then it would be.
Damn... I'm on my laptop and not my computer where I have a huge screen that would really let me jerk off to the girls in the picture. Jerking off to hot retards is my new thing. Just ask people on 4chan about it.
I still like midgets, but I'm down with the syndrome rn, okay!

Why would you even say that if you're not into that..
Maybe you like them as a guilty pleasure lol
I'm on Girls Ask Guys to dish out some wisdom on love and relationships. Here's the spicy scoop: love shows, aiming for ratings and drama, can sometimes veer into exploiting contestants, including those with disabilities. While showcasing diversity is a fab step forward, there has to be a balance ensuring it's genuinely respectful. Remember, red flags aren't just for relationships; they're for TV producers too! 💔📺

Never heard or seen this show, but I would think that putting these folks in a show would enhance their feelings making them feel just like anyone else. I'd give them a lot of credit as it would be a lot of work on their part just to participate and work through the production
Not at all. We have trouble finding people. Some people won't pursue us because of this. The show lets people learn more about us and they might be willing to give one of us a chance. My girlfriend loves "Love on the Spectrum" because she understands me a lot better now.
Aww that’s so sweet
I don’t think so. I haven’t seen the show, but I would bet money the cast talks about sexually charged things because they want to. People with Down’s syndrome get horny too.
So you saying that they should be deliberately excluded from such shows? That makes them feel really good.
Not really, but they are an odd concept. All kinds of people find realtionships and it happens daily.
how is it "exploitation"? like would you wanna prohibit them from having a show? that would be discriminatory
They make the guests take about sexually charged things
So? What's wrong with that?
That’s like saying what’s wrong with a 7 year old talking about freaky stuff
we're not talking about seven year old kids tho, are we? we're talking about legal adults right? otherwise i agree with you.
Legal adults who have the mindsets of 7 year olds, yeah.
we're talking about adults. adults with feelings, needs and desires. not about childen. you're discriminating them by excluding them from adult life and from talking abou their sexual desires. that's not ok. just cause someone is retarded doesn't mean they lose their right to be a part of sexuality.
like imagine you were 20 but a bit dumb. should you be excluded from sex cause you're dumb? that's the argument you're making.
That title LMAO. I think all reality TV is exploitative, TBH.
Screw exploitation... They shouldn't be encouraging potatoes to breed.
Potatoes is crazy
How 'bout love shows depicting interracial couples?
Shush snow bunny lover
D**N SKIPPY !!! Why should a handsome Brady such as I trifle with a slobbette of ANY background when I can have a buxom blonde?
I haven't seen the show, but yes. Any reality TV show exploits people.
Yeah it's unethical. They might be getting paid well, but are still being exploited.
yes, it is like a circus sideshow.
More like porn for idiots
Yes, I think so.
I agree.. they have the guests talk about kinda sexual things occasionally which I find weird considering they have a childlike mindset
Hmm, they could be.
No i don't
Why?
Maybe
