When and how do guys become certain of who they want to marry?

I know every guy is different, but I want to hear your opinions and personal experiences.

Over the past couple of months, my friend has been dropping some serious hints about marrying me.
I’m shocked because we have only ever been friends, and I never thought someone could feel so strongly for someone they have never had any romantic or sexual relationship with.
This got me thinking about the complexities of individuals and relationships.

When he has a girl that makes him her top priority , that gives to him and treats him like a King , when a guy is treated like a king from a girl he really likes , he will eventually make her his Queen and do the same for her by making her his top priority as well. Especially if she is loyal and honest with him , and she removes selfishness for him and only has eyes for him and stands by his side no matter what and brings happiness into his life , not misery. Most of us guys’ have Ego’s , so if she can fulfill his Ego and make him feel valued and wanted and appreciated then she has a very good chance of him proposing to her. Guys’ want to be married to a girl that brings happiness into his life , a girl that will wear his shoes the same way he will wear hers. A girl That isn’t using him that wants to be his team partner , also a girl that doesn’t withhold intimacy and affection from him , she wants him as much as he wants her. She doesn’t hesitate to be in his arms and to please him.

I decided that I really did not want to marry her. I tried not to think bout it but finally I called her and broke up with her over the phone. I wondered if I made a mistake.
A few months later i met my future wife. I just had no doubts that we were supposed to be together.

I have never thought what he’s done to show me how much I mean to him, but now that you have brought it to my attention, I realized that he does a lot for me.

He is so supportive and encouraging.

He is always there for me when I need him.

When my nonna died, he stayed by my side for a whole week. He held me close, wiped my tears, and didn’t care if I got snot on his shirt. He laughed when I apologized to him for it and reassured me that it was fine. I’m still embarrassed about it though.

Whenever I am stressed or upset, he listens to me vent and tries to help me in any way he can.

When I feeling anxious or insecure, he gives me pep talks to boost my confidence.

When I am sick, he comes over to make me soup, bring me popsicles, give me company, and help me around the house.

He knows I have a fear of gaining weight, so he always makes sure I am eating enough.

He knows I am a workaholic, so he makes sure I am getting enough sleep.

When I have to do presentations for work, he comes over to help me practice my presentation, does calming exercises with me, and reassures me that I am going to do amazing because he knows I am afraid of public speaking.

He is always celebrating my success.

Whenever I do a presentation for work, he tells me how proud he is of me for conquering my fears and that my perseverance is one of the things he admires most about me.

He is always complimenting me on everything, not just on my appearance.

He doesn’t only care about me but also my family.

I think this list is probably too long already so I will stop. Haha sorry.

Also, I do a lot for him as well!
Friends are always there for each other.

Oh! He always comments on how much he loves my voice. He always wants me to send him voice messages. He says it’s perfect, and my voice is his favorite voice.

I never knew that a persons voice could be so important.

True, but while we appreciate it when you have a nice voice, a strident, screechy voice is potentially more of a liability than a beautiful voice is an asset, in my opinion. I'm glad you have a nice one, though;)

You will feel it, like a sixth sense, their care, actions, how they treat you, i mean everything will make you feel if this person is the one or not, their whole presence, also the way you think about them while they are absent, how much you miss them when they aren't present with you... etc
