Now I'm military and I've lived in a lot of places. There is a clear different vibe in a place that hasn't been lived in and a place that has. I believe human emotions can be so extreme that it just prints itself in time and space. I have some spooky stories to tell... like when I heard a woman speaking Japanese in my military housing house when I first came back to Japan. I speak Japanese because I was there so long and it was real. Asking me if everything is okay and generally concerned with me. From the hallway. ... I think the craziest is the damn suicide house we moved into for about a year... the imprints on time and space from that one is insane. I record my sleep when alone as am told I talk in my sleep. No recollection. Hold really odd conversations. Sitting up, eyes open. I downloaded a sleep recording app only to find out I (to date) only do this when someone is present to uphold their end of the convo and tell me to go back to sleep.

June 18th Early am. I find one recording. A male voice saying my name, at 3am, very clearly in whisper. I was alone that night. Doors locked. Dog in room.
Can't explain that and really upset my family. Oddly more than me.

I went on holiday and I stayed in a very old property, and like you say, there's probably been many people that have died, and have been unable to rest because of life's injustices.
The reason I say this is even though I never saw a ghost while I was there, I heard evidence of them every night, in all the rooms around me.
They were all female moans and groans, so I think a tragedy must have befallen the previous ladies that lived there in past history.
