How do you know when your going through a mid-life crisis?

Do you think they are real? lf so what happened and when? My wife thinks she may be going through it now she is unsure about everything in life anyone gone through this?

You don’t know , a mid life crisis is pretty much a mental illness , that there isn’t really any control over. It’s pretty much a chemical imbalance in the brain that can occur without us really knowing it’s happening. Guys’ and Girls’ can go through them , and that’s usually when marriages or long term relationships face a crossroads, because someone you thought you knew a lot about pretty much becomes someone you really don’t know anymore. Most times affairs occur during that time because the person that is going through the crisis , feels they are missing out on things and feels they deserve better than what they have in front of them. So if your wife is going through a midlife crisis , don’t be surprised if she spreads her legs to someone else , unfortunately it happens more than we like to think it does

No that's pretty much sums up what iam going through except will still have sex but instead of men it's doing coke and not the soda we have both struggled with drugs iam clean she was doing great but just avoiding problems hanging out with new friends while ur doing coke anyone who has done it knows

Ya I think I went through mine doing the same shit she is and now I've been clean and put all my time and effort to the family and now she's started iam 44 she's 43 we have been together for 25 years so I get it that's why iam still around she waited for me to go through it so I gotta do the same but if it keeps up then I've got to end it

Unfortunately drugs usually win , congrats to you for being clean , but unfortunately that’s very rare to hear. My oldest brother lost his wife and child because he was addicted to coke and crack cocaine , and then he ended up dropping dead at the age of 51 from it , his heart stopped. My family and I have tried getting him help a ton of times and no matter what he went right back to it , So it might be best for you to walk away from her if she doesn’t choose to get clean and better herself. I know you love and care about her but it doesn’t mean you have to stay with her , if she chooses not to get clean. I pray for you my man , I just lost my brother 4 years ago to it and again the drugs won

Yep I turned 30 and realized I have been wasting the last 10 years of my life trying to be comfortable. My midlife crisis has looked like me putting myself through hell doing all the stuff I don't want to and hated to do, to try and "catch up" to everyone else. I'm kind of realizing now a year later people are all pretending to be happy and I had things right from the start with caring about myself but finding comfort isn't the purpose it's the journey and enjoying it.

Ya everyone's experiences I've talked to and online have been different some try drugs for first time or want time apart cause they feel lost some say kinda like a identity crisis

Yep for me what I think makes it a crisis. Is that my mindset has gone from one extreme to another. Finding the way from one mindset to another has almost left my brain and body in shock. I know I've changed but I kind of forgot how I did. If that makes any sense.

Perfect sense I did things that I never would of thought and then it seemed normal and put stress on my marriage bad and then I snapped out of it and now it's happened to her pretty much same exact thing at same age weird how life is

If you are really 20 then you aren't even close to mid life if you think you have had one then hope you live past 40 iam not talking about any crisis a series of event that are way out of your normal routines that you have no control over prob between 40 and 50 years old

Whatever she is going through iam not gonna wait forever I went through it apologized and made everything all good now she's going through it and it has been worse then what I done and iam not gonna deal with it much longer
