How you cope with your intrusive thoughts?

Any tips let me know all I seem to think about is this dam separation with my wife of 25 years I have a good day pretty positive then couple of bad days its a roller coaster of emotions and got no one to talk to about it either it sucks even working out and going to job doesn't put it out of my mind which sucks when I start breaking up out of nowhere

Your intelligence controls your mind or at least it should. Go a level deeper and find out what is the reason for those "intrusive" thought.

I acknowledge the thought is present, but I choose not to let it dictate my behavior or my emotional state.

Depends on what the thoughts are about really. I tend to think of things that happened in the past that were not real pleasant. In my case I like to watch YouTube videos that help with coming to closure.

I try to busy myself with something that needs to get done, stress myself out into forgetting lol

Distractions! It's harder to act on anything with other people around.
