Don't. The only way to instantly stop having them is to sweep them under the rug. Then you'll end up like a "dindu nuffin". Your noticing of them means you are able to act as a moral filter, in what criminals act upon unconsciously. As you sit with them and gently decide that they're incorrect, your character as a whole grows more moral and less disturbed by them, without you needing to put up blind spots in your consciousness. ㅤ

I focus on them, more and more and more. I sit there in that horrible thought and replay it again and again and again. feeling all the emotion with what it would be like to live in that intrusive thought. Every time I replay it, it stings a little less and I do that untill that thought no longer has power over me.

We are not our thoughts and emotions. We are the awareness that experiences those thoughts and emotions. When you realize you can control your mind, it doesn't always have to control you. You dont shut out bad thoughts, instead you fix them...

You think of those intrusive thoughts as something to work on and improve about yourself. Instead of think of those thoughts like the things that limit you.

You change the way you "see" that thought. Like I said, you think of that intrusive thought, as something that is holding you back. instead think of it like an opportunity to make yourself better. You know the thought, so you know exactly what you need to work on, and fix.

You have to accept them and start to analyze their sense. When you want get rid of them your brain switches to emotional mode and they go away temporarily but come back again, again, again..., When you start to think about them in a logic way, when you follow those thought, you think how to prepare if they are true, then you seen how pointless most of them are.

I don't know what this means. I know psychology say's everyone has these and recognizes it as a real thing but myself I can't think of a single time I've had one.
Every thought I have is natural to what I would think, and none are intrusive.
Is it because other people are fragile and find certain thoughts disturbing rather than accepting them? I don't know

well the point isn't to shut them up. the point is to figure out what they want you to do and understand that part of them with compassion. then you try to negotiate with them how you can achieve what they wanna do for you without getting in the way of other thigns. so do you wanna share what the intrusive thoughts are about? cause as long as you're just trying to silence them, they'll keep popping up forever.

I try to reason it out. I have intrusive thoughts about my father's evil family. It drives me crazy at times. Write them out. I think some pretty horrible things about them. But I know that they are just thoughts and they can't hurt me. Learn to push them out. I'm dbt therapy now and it teaches you how to control them. See if you can find a dbt therapy class around you.

All thoughts are just thoughts. Define what you mean by "Intrusive Thoughts". What makes one thought intrusive and another not intrusive to you?

I don't really get too violent ones... lol

but sometimes, during a game... and after they would come at my shins and not the ball... I would think about how easy would it be to just snap someone ankle out of their socket and I would kind of chuckle a bit, lmao... but then I just remembered I was the captain so... nope

That's the perfect meditation exercise as a daily practice. But ONLY practice. Instead of the "emptying" of the mind that is really popular and harmful, instead fill your mind with one thought, a neutral one that doesn't excite you, and push every other thought out.

Yet it must be limited to the exercise. Not a means to shut down creativity during the day.

If they are fixable I work on them. Look for solutions. If they are unnecessary I try to ignore, focus on something healthy, good activities and work.

Mock them, make fun of them, imagine they're a person, beat them up in your mind's eye. We're talking domestic abuse here.
