Can a 17 year old get taken from parents with cps?

my parents are having trouble with the landlord because they have received complaints that they argue to loudly and the house isn't clean (im the one who mostly does the cleaning) and my parents constantly buy packages and so many things we dont have space for making it look cluttered and wasting their money.

I have a 2 year old sister she is well taken care of no problems really just typical married couple fighting and an unclean house unfortunately. I am about 6 months away from turning 18, I dont have a job anymore but my boyfriend is so well off he's willing to take me in but I dont have permission until 18..

I wonder if cps would take my sister or me away. Would they give me emancipation because im older? I've never dealt with any of this and im not sure what to do.

Yes if the parents’ are neglecting their children and abusive to their children , a 17 year old is still considered a minor depending on what state they are in , so yes it’s possible for the 17 year old to be removed from that environment, CPS will either contact other family members to see if they can take the kids’ in or they will be sent to a foster home if no one will take them. The 17 year olds boyfriend will not be able to take her in , she will have to wait until she is 18 to be able to make that decision

It's been years since I've looked into this, but you can file for emancipation at 16 in WA and CA. A government site might be a better resource than here.

CPS generally only removes kids if there is serious neglect or abuse (things like no food, unsafe living conditions, physical abuse, or if the child’s safety is at risk). Arguing, clutter, or an unclean (but not dangerous/unsanitary) home usually doesn’t rise to the level of removal. They might give your parents a warning or recommend parenting/cleaning support services instead. Since you’re 17 and almost 18, CPS is unlikely to take you out of your home unless there’s extreme danger.

Considering the circumstances, yes. That's a definitely a possibility. Is there a family member who can take you and your sister in? Also, you may need therapy later on in life to understand that this is not a normal dynamic. Not even a little bit. For right now, though, the safety is what's most important.
