For me, it’s definitely someone with a crazy good sense of humor... the kind of person who can make me laugh even when I’m trying not to. Someone who actually sees me, even when I’m hiding behind jokes or silence. And someone I just feel… safe around. That comfort hits different when you’ve sworn off love.

I had a year where I had a few bad relationships. I had a date with this girl to go to a concert. After the date I planned on dumping her and was going to give up on dating maybe forever. She was her usual shitty self and afterwards I was never going to call her again.
I felt like a great weight had been lifted off me. I planned on going away to the beach for a few days of fishing, drinking beer and just hanging out.
Ironically, that was the day I met my future wife,
She was just everything tht the rest of them were not. Amd he was not what the rest of them were.

At this point, I can't envision anyone ending that phase, for me. If I could, then I wouldn't really be "done" with love.

I'm actually quite content being single again, and never dating anyone else. It's more peaceful than during any of my previous relationships, and I no longer have to trust anyone but myself, since I won't betray me

I'm off the belief that most people don't know what real love is, so I don't think it's something you can "swear off".. That's just basically "I don't feel like dating or gaining strong feelings again... For now".. Lmao.. That's basically what that is.. And most people don't have a solid consistent nature to keep something like that going.. So eventually we'll find somebody we like enough to break any "declaration" of that type..
