Does prioritizing date nights help you keep the romance alive in you relationship?

Are you the type to schedule date nights and not break them in your long term relationship because you feel this keeps the romance fresh or is it simply enough for you to go with the flow and not abide by any scheduling and the romance remains alive and kicking with your partner?

Yes. People grow and change. Think about it. You're not the same person you were 10 years ago, 5 years ago, possibly not even a year ago. If you change, why would you think your partner wouldn't? This is why it's oh so important for couple to always make time for date nights to stay dialed in to what brought them together in the first place. Because those that do not do very much risk of growing apart. I've seen it a lot. 2 people get together, have kids, spend 20 years raising them and in those years. they change from two people that loved eachother to co-workers raising a family. And as soon as the kids leave the nest, they can't just pick up where they left off 20 years ago. Everything about them is different at that point. Many times that is the beginning of the end for them. It's unfortunate.

Well maybe not so much in mine because I actually spend a lot of time with my partner so date nights could happen minimum 3 days out the week on average.


That being said when life does get busy it’s important to plan that time for each other , to reconnect and perhaps reignite those romantic feelings should the business of life distract you from the importance of your other in your life.

I believe it's according to what kind of couple you are. Maybe you need a set schedule because of your jobs and/or children and social obligations. Or it might be better to come across open dates three times a month and that works.

Yes, I think so.
Especially for me and my schedule.
Between working out of town a lot from April through the end of October, plus my normal insane schedule of shifts, extra shifts, meetings it is all too easy to kind of forget that date night are also just as important if not more important than saving our small part of the planet.
