What’s the difference between someone saying that they love you vs. showing up in a way that makes you feel loved?

Irrespective of how much you love/like someone; if you don’t show them love in the language they understand via either quality time, words of affirmation, touch or gifts…. they won’t feel loved. What should be the best course of action then?

Words can be empty things, even when they're words of love. We all tend to use the term "Love" much too easily nowadays even just to refer to folks who are only moderately close to us.

"Actions speak louder than words."

The quietest guys I know will talk a lot of s**t but then come through in the sweetest ways. One, for example, has potty mouth and comes through for his friends and family with a "grumpy bear" attitude, which earns him quite a bit of appreciation as a beloved old grump. Another will verbally rib a person to fraying point but then some through in accomplishing the impossible.

It's the ones who talk the talk but don't walk the walk that you need to watch out for. They're unreliable and leave you feeling sad, empty and confused.

It wouldn't make sense when you boyfriend would only talk about date ideas but you never go out. Instead he is talking about it and taking you on dates that you both enjoy.
Or like I had a friend who was dating a guy and he was taking her with him but to get his stuff done or like to a game and she couldn't care less. It was nothing Romantic or fun. He didn't give a shit but said it was a "date" it was not.

Saying it is just words , but when someone truly loves you , they will do things for you, be there for you without having to tell them to be , they will always have your back whether you want them to be or not , , so having both with someone , is the best love to have with someone because they don’t leave you with a question mark over your head

I prefer to be told "I love you" anytime he feels like saying it. Who doesn't like for someone who says "I love you" as they cupping their hands gently around your face and looking at you in your eyes? 😍
But showing me in so many different ways is also showing that he loves me and is very thoughtful with expressing it. Sometimes it's the simple things that show love.

I think guys in general don't say the words, "I love you" as often as women. At least that's been my case. I usually say it, then they say it back. I think they're more about actions to show they're love.
