Should I pay my boyfriend for watching my pups while I was on vacation?

My boyfriend asked me to pay him money for everyday he took care of my pups. Is this wrong of him to ask me? I have done so many things for him and never once asked him to pay me for it but he was like if you could pay me that would be great but he was already in town to go to the gym and to work and my house is like 5 minutes away from his job and the gym he uses. It felt weird he asked me to pay him and I questioned it a bit because I have watched his dog before for him and never asked him to pay me for it but he said I needed to pay him for gas. I only asked him to feed my fish and dogs and it was for 2 days. One feeding in morning and night before and after work. I do have 5 cats but they tend to themselves and didn’t need to be taken care of since they are free fed with a gravity bowl and always have clean water that is filtered. But he wanted me to pay him $25 bucks for gas. I gave him the money but is this a normal thing in a relationship or kinda weird?

no, I don't agee with him asking. money in family gets weird fast. Are you charging him for making him dinner, folding his laundry? he charge you for putting oil in your car.

if he had problems with spending the money he should have said so and agreed up front.

It may be he feels like or FEARS being used. Like if he was used before, he's now taking it out on you.

I did pay gas to someone I dated though because he was always taken for granted, did everyone favors, loved his car, drove everywhere with that thing. I had to Kinda force the money down his throat or something like it, lol. He was short of Cash but had a big heart and to me thar is what was important. He would never ask for money for gas or anything, he was too proud, had his dignity, especially towards me as we were dating. I alwsys had to trick him or get angry with him in order to get him to accept.

Your boyfriend has Cash and none of it makes sense to me. I would not trust him enough to in the future put myself in a situation with him regarding money. I think his attitude stinks.

That's not kinda weird, it's very weird and very offputting since you did the same for him without asking. Is he so bad off financially that $25 is such a huge deal? I'd never in a billion years ask for money from my boyfriend for doing something like that. I couldn't considering how ridiculous I'd sound in my mind even bringing it up.

He works a full time job. I don’t live with him but he does work right down the road so he said since he would already be out he would stop by before and after work. He lives about 30 minutes away from home with his parents and they both make a lot of money so does he. I am a full time college student and work a job. He is always out here but will rarely ever stop by after work to say hi even before and I live down the road from his job. I literally get him asking me all the time to drive all the way out to his place to stay the night but he won’t come over and stay the night with me and won’t take time to visit me unless convenient for him.

Before you and he get any more serious, you should decide if you're ok with where you fit into his life. And I mean where YOU fit into HIS life. He sounds inflexible and treats you like an inconvenience. You're constantly going to have to rearrange everything you do around what's best for someone who is probably never going to do it for you.

I wouldn't if there was reciprocation in the relationship. If I am asked to do stuff and my requests are refused I would possibly make a point.
