Besides the obvious divorce laws, what other things will ruin a woman's chance of getting married?

I'm now curious because I had just spoken to two male co-workers at my workplace. Both are single men in their 30's and neither of them are totally against marriage. They are just careful of who to marry if it ever gets to that level. One of them explained that he used to be in a long-term relationship for 4 years and thought about proposal (even though sometimes he had his doubts, felt something just wasn't right) until he once witnessed his girlfriend banging her cell phone in anger on the night table just because her headsets wasn't working. He immediately discarded her as wife material and just kept her as girlfriend until eventually breaking-up.

Then today, I just saw a post here about a woman disagreeing with her boyfriend's strong stance on cheaters. The boyfriend thought cheaters should immediately get dumped but the woman thought that was harsh and that cheating is a mistake. I think that right there will deminish her chance of getting proposal and then married in the near future.

Ok men, from your point of view... besides the obvious battle with the divorce laws (though I actually have my own assets so actually don't mind sharing my property), what others things will ruin a woman's chance of getting marriage from a man, things that will either get her dumped or keep her much longer as a girlfriend?

All the things I list aren’t going to 100% keep her from getting married, but they will certainly stack the odds against her.

1. She’s had more meat in her than a freezer. Men who have respect for theirselves aren’t into women like that. Men don’t want to be that fool who she’s up w a girl who a lot of other men know because they all slept w her. You’re seen as the clown. You’re a joke of a man. The man a lot of men will have respect for is him being w that one girl that all men want but all men have not had. Women can complain about it, say that’s not fair, but I don’t write the rules. Now on the other hand women can say that about men. But the thing is that man probably had to be someone or do something to get him to be w many women, so a lot of women want whatever it is that he has so they’re willing to look past that. Not men. She could be rich, slept w a lot of men, but most men aren’t willing to be w her just to get to her money. The ones who will are usually the ones she doesn’t want.

2. She has children. A lot of men don’t want to deal w someone else is kids. You’re always competing w the kids for time. They always come first. Nothing can really be spontaneous. If the ex is still around there’s a good chance he’s an asshole otherwise she’d still be w him.

3. She’s older. Men love younger women. There are some exceptions as far as women who may be in their 30s who are gorgeous, maybe even in their 40s. But a lot of times men want younger women. When men are younger, we tend to want older women. I remember when I was 23, I was w a woman who was 43. I liked her because unlined women my age, her body was more developed. Fill curves, big breast, maybe that was cause she had had 2 children by then.

4. Her attitude. She could be the hottest thing on this planet, but if she’s got an attitude most men aren’t willing to put up w it. I say most because a lot of simps will want her because they’re Betas. But respectful, masculine men won’t take a girl like that. They will Up to smash her, but that’s about.

5. Not being feminine. I get in today’s economy women have to work, but deep down a lot of men want feminine women. We don’t want a girl who’s a boss bitch who makes a zillion dollars. No it’s not cause her making more than him emasculate him, it’s because she’s not going to “the one.” Me sing if she makes more then she should cover more of thing bills. She still wants a man who makes as much as her or more cause she still expects him to take care of a majority of things. So when men say we don’t care about her education or her money it’s cause we know as men “your money” isn’t our money. It’s not going to benefit us as a couple, just you.

There’s some other things. Some men may disagree w this, but I think a lot of men will agree w it.

Are you still opening yourself to your partner in new ways: your feelings, your values, your goals, your fears, your traumas, your learnings... making yourself more and more vulnerable?

Have areas of discussion or negotiation disappeared because one or both of you would prefer to avoid conflict?

Do you work every day, or at least most days, to make your partner's life better?

Do you value his opinions as much as your own, recognising that you do not have to agree on very much frankly but that you both hold sound reasons for them?

Do you approach negotiations... where are we going to live, where are we going to go on holidays, what movie should we watch tonight... genuinely aiming to achieve the best outcome for you as a couple, rather than merely your personal goals?

Are you pushing yourself outside the relationship... work, study, hobbies, friends, writing, art... in ways that, by sharing, can continue to enrich your relationship going forward?

If your answers are yes, no, yes, yes, yes, yes... then you are marriage material.

So long as you continue to grow together, it is easy for your partner to imagine a life together into the future. If he looks at you and thinks:

• Is this all?
• Things used to be better between us.
• I get better trust and support from my friends.
• Maybe it would be easier to start again with someone new than fix this mess.

Then they are not going to hitch their star to your stagnating wagon.

Your coworkers sound really insecure as men. Yes, if you have a partner you don’t gel with, don’t stay with them but don’t keep them around if you know you’re just wasting your time with them like a back-up sex toy.
Divorce isn’t something that “kills” a woman’s chances at a relationship. Honestly, I see more divorcees in the dating pool than single people. Admitting you committed to the wrong person and getting out isn’t a mistake, I’ve seen what happens when a poorly compatible couple stays together, it just results in a shitty relationship, lots of cheating, lots of fighting, and sleeping in separate beds for decades.
