I was able to tell immediately how a man who wants to be my boyfriend online started persuading me to do things I didn’t want to do. I also met him in real life but escaped from him when he wasn’t looking. I even found his Instagram and check his posts he has been with his new girlfriend for 3 years! I’m not sure if he has changed or is she too naive to noticed?

I can't chose yes or no on this one as I know how complex it can be. I was under my ex control and this is something that happened gradually and reinforced by how we lived, standards, jealousy. It was when I got out and how he was, his language, how he tried to interact with me, and how close I was automatically, as if sleep walking, to still be controlled. When I was seeing someone else who was sweet, fun, loving etc I could really compare these two's different style, and how used I had been to be emotionally abused. If you don't have other people in your life that will treat you the opposite way, if they can't get to you, if you stay isolated, and lets say you are only surrounded by those the controller trust, but who let him continue, I think it is very possible you don't know. I know it sounds strange. I would blame myself, feel quilt when I thought about leaving. Your brain is so effected by the emotional abuse that you sort of work on autopilot, it is like I said when you get a chance to break out that it is as if your brain at first feel worse but then starts to get back to normal. If she has been with him for 3 years it is possible she is on autopilot like I was.

They’re able to read body language to a point where if you got a bunch of convicted abusers in a room full of people and asked them which girl they would want, they would all pick the same girl, the meekest, the quietest, the most likely to do what they ask because she’s alone.
