Why do some think they can get away with having an affair and their surrounding not getting it?

I have experienced married couples having affsirs, showing up pretending this game as if they are only friends. It is so obvious to everyone else. Disrespecting us as in them thinking they can fool us too. We're just for them to play with, they really think they're something smarter, superior themselves. Times when I refused to play along, just looked at one of them long enough in silence for thar one to get it. Another I was close to slapping across the face but held back. A third I gave my irony look to and said something. Then when their affair is finally out there, known to all, they act all ridiculous then too, How did they duscover it? We who were so discreet. Etc. Don't they get it is not only offensive to their partners but to everyone else they think they can fool too? We never asked to be around that and treated as idiots. No, thanks. Not gonna be some false witness to that.

Once someone has become brazen (yes sone people are genuinely bad at hiding it and are caught the first time) it’s because they have gotten away with it before. Point blank… by the time most people get caught. They have done it.

Dark personalities I’ll tell you. They just think people are stupid and therefore deserve it… Most of the time at some point the other spouse knows. They are just in denial. They excuse it and justify it away… and even if they walked in and seen something happening. They wouldn’t admit it. Until they are too miserable or the divorce is initiated.

No you’re right. They genuinely think they’re smarter and superior. They think they have everyone fooled. Also…. People who are really evil they have to tell you what they’re doing to you… while leaving plausible deniability. If you decide to stay… in their minds. You deserve it.

Most people really aren’t that slick. It’s just the other partner wasn’t paying attention including when the relationship was still going good. After all most people will over compensate the first time they cheat. Sometimes out of guilt sometimes out of just not wanting them to find out. So the marriage may seem to be doing better for that reason and…. Their wants and needs theh don’t feel are being met in the marriage. Are being met.

Until…. They become so resentful and make your life such a living hell later on. By the time they are resentful and obviously lost all respect for you. It’s not the beginning of the end…. It’s the end of the end.

I know many cops. A lot of these guys have something on the side. They all think thay can pull it off but they all get caught and they all regret it once the end up in divorce court.

Oh fuck…. Issue with certain professions isn’t the profession itself. It’s their access. Cops get a lot of female attention…. So more opportunities to act on impulses and fantasies they already have.

It’s really bad…. And irs both male and female cops.

There was this chick cheating on her husband with the 19 year old son of one of the civilian employees.

Apparently he went on a ride along with her and they started hooking up. He was their “grass mower” the worst part is that her husband was paying him while overseas and irs possible one of her kids is his.

@Summeroflove yes, my neighbor is a cop and on New Years day a few years ago the comes over while I was shoveling my driveway. He is telling me about his new "friend" and I ask him if he was out of his friggin mind. He tells me it;s all cool. A few months later his wife kicked him out and he wantd me to talk to his wife and tell her how sorry he was. I told him that ship had sailed.

Yeah…. There was another lady that was “finding herself” moved out of her husbands house and was living with a Lt she was a civilian employee too.

Well. Her husband divorced her after he found out to put another long story short.

After six months. He moved her out and moved one of the new nurses in shortly after who was a friend…. And then she slept with the captain and so she ended up getting kicked out.

Law enforcement is really bad for this. Everyone’s sleeping witn everyone. Including the fire department. Prosecutors. Judges staff. The juvenile office. All of it

@Summeroflove I knew a lot of cops who were divorced , some had more than one "behind them". They had ex kids all over the place too. There was a guy who lived in the attic above the police station. He was even getting his mail there

I know a guy who left his wife three times and somehow kept taking her back… and for some reason she stays.
