I would imagine it would depend how I came by this information. Like if she bought me the cologne and said I love the smell of this cologne my ex used to wear it. That would probably be ok. It doesn't imply anything other than she likes the smell. But if she WORDED it the way you did? Then I'd say, "nah I'm good". I mean think about it. How would she feel if you asked her to do her hair a certain was because you ex had that hairdo? You know EXACTLY how she'd feel. And she'd have good reason to feel that way.
