I try my best not to go on a guilt trip but it's hard because I feel bad easily about things I do that's my fault even when an apology is accepted.

I hope that this question was placed by mistake under the "Sexuality/Pornography" topic unless the wording you use was in relation to one of those topics.

I do abhor this expression and my answer my answer is based on making mistakes rather than the expression you used.

It is difficult to realize that you made such a bad mistake that it calls for corrective action because it indicates that you were not able to control yourself enough to avoid that mistake.

I would apologize if I realize that I goofed and that I may have hurt someone's feelings even if that is not something I like to do. Nobody likes to have to apologize and a lot of people will simply not do it by fear to be seen as weak.
