If your girlfriend sits in your friend's lap for like 10 minutes at a house party, is that being borderline unfaithful? It's one thing to be a little flirtatious, it's another thing to plop down on a dude's lap with his junk touching your ass! Is this something worth making a big deal over or let it go?

Not technically cheating, but definitely crossing a boundary that shouldn't be crossed.

I suppose people can define the boundaries and expectations of their own relationship commitment, but by default, most people would agree that a commitment means not even allowing yourself to be in a situation that would make your partner uncomfortable.

When something like that happens, it's a clear sign that the two people in the relationship did not vet each other's morals and values before they made the decision to commit. One of the key requirements for a relationship to last long-term is that the two people have to have VERY similar morals and values. If you don't, this kind of thing is what happens.

"Cheating" is having a sexual or emotional and sexual relationship with someone who is not your significant other. Dancing with or sitting on someone's lap do not generally fall into this category. Nor does talking to or laughing with someone else.

If your girlfriend is lap sitting your buddy in front of your friends at a house party, it's a sure sign your girlfriend either isn't too bright or very insecure and needs constant validation or she doesn't respect you. Any of those things is reason enough to get rid of her.

I have a double standard for that. If you are a guy and a woman does that you are a victim of circumstance as you were likely just sitting there and women tend to like to sit on guys’ laps. For a woman in a relationship though, that is too much. Don’t be rubbing your ass on some guys thigh. You are disrespecting your man as it won’t last.
