Well I wouldn't react with surprise. You agreed to be in a relationship where you could both "cheat with rules". So you're both prioritizing your own pleasure and desires. That says something about who you both are. It's only a small step from "cheating with rules" to breaking those rules because you prioritize your own pleasure and desires. And it's only one more small step to catching feelings or an STD.

If you go into an open relationship in denial of the risks and the other person's weaknesses, you're an idiot. That's why not many people can pull off this powder keg of a relationship. What I'd be pissed about is my part time woman bringing home a full time problem like syphilis, gonorrhea, HIV or some other little invisible gift. And if she does it once it gets easier the next time. And the next.

Isn't it ironic to have rules to manage in an open relationship? Because I don't remember using or monitoring any rules in a standard relationship.

If "always using protection" had to be a rule then we'd be both really misinformed about what sex is. Misinformed or downright stupid.

At one point, I developed a bacterial infection, that I knew was from her, and my MD sent me for tests, and it was not an STD, but the Dr. said it looked like a bacterial infection, that uncircumcised men get from not being clean under there foreskin.
