Is women’s sexual attraction really more negotiable than men’s?

The other day I posted something and some opinions expressed that women’s sexuality is more negotiable as she can grow sexual of a man overtime, and that’s why men can be more persistent, while men’s sexuality is more overt.

I disagree, I have had two relationships where I was extremely attracted to them from the very beginning and it never went away during the 4 or 2 years that they lasted respectively.

And when meeting men I don’t feel that attracted to I kind of feel shut off and don’t even want to meet again, because I know the difference of how I feel when I really feel attracted to someone and that chemistry or attraction feels nonnegotiable for me.

I don’t think I can ever grow more attracted to someone unless it’s there from the beginning and if I stay with that person I don’t think that’s fair to any of us.

I can only speak for myself... not for all men, nor for all women

personally, if I do not feel attracted, interested and intrigued from the beginning... then it is very unlikely that I will develop any interest or attraction, later

that just has never happened to me before, and I speak attraction in general, not just sexually

that "chemistry" you're talking about, yes... that's one I need too, the other things, of course can develop over time as you get to know someone more and better, HOWEVER, this doesn't develop out of nowhere... it is always from that something that was there from the get go, never from zero or none...

I think that maybe sometimes women choose men with whom they are not so attracted to and I can totally understand why…
But then I can only imagine the suffering of being with someone with whom any kind of intimacy is like a chore.

well, two things...

according to my exes, they did find me physically attractive from the start "you were attractive" but that wasn't enough for most of them... they needed more, they needed to know about me and if the physique matched the brain, and if the personality was there too (of course, being decent was a must, lol)

so, I guess that in that way... maybe yeah, things can develop later, as they said... the sexual attraction happened a bit later and went high like rockets, but later... after they saw other things about me

as for the second part... I don't even want to imagine anything in a relationship that feels like a chore, lol

I had a girl pursue me that I wasn't too sure about ( I don't know why she was awesome) and I rejected her flirting and advances. Finally she gave up on me and two things happened - I realized she was awesome and her disinterest in me sparked me wanting her. But then it was too late, and I was the fool. I was distracted by another girl I was chasing for what ever reason and I guess I realized that I didn't need to because this awesome girl was standing in front of me all along. I think it was a couple months. I look back on it now and I was an idiot - but if it was meant to be it was meant to be. I didn't have to communication skills back then to come back at her and tell her how I truly felt.

Sexuality is fluid, period. This doesn’t just mean your attraction to someone grows with time, it also means your attraction to other sexes can change with time. Is this specific to you? No, clearly not. But the statement is about a lot more than just you.

You’re absolutely right for you. Attraction isn’t “one size fits all.” Some women’s desire is more flexible, some is non-negotiable like yours.

For you, that instant spark is a green flag and a requirement. For others, emotional safety, consistency, and kindness slowly turn into sexual attraction.

Neither is wrong. The “women are more negotiable” thing is just a lazy generalization guys use to justify chasing when the vibe is dead.

You’re not broken, you’re just wired for high initial chemistry. And staying with someone you’re not truly attracted to? That’s the real red flag, for both of you.

I think it depends on the person a person can feel sexually attracted to someone that there is zero future with and no deeper romantic attraction. A person can feel romantically attracted build a deeper bond and then later on develop the sexual stuff later down the road.

Someone can also feel very sexually attracted to someone and then that desire decreases once you get to know them. That’s part of dating some people aren’t right. You get closure and both people can hopefully just move on when this happens. It doesn’t mean either person is bad or did anything wrong it’s just know when it isn’t meant to be.
