Do you think attraction is more unique or specific for women than men?

Like I see men that other women like and I have no idea why these girls would marry them or find them good looking.

Then girls see guys I think are attractive and they have no idea why I feel those men are attractive, they think they are the total opposite of attractive.

This is not the guy I am dating right now. I would give him a decent grade for his looks, both facially and bodily. But his main feature is his personality.

It's like women have unique tastes in what they find attractive while men have more common tastes in what they find attractive.

I am with a guy right now that could be considered too strange or weird. He has alopecia totalis (absolutely no hair on his body), which makes him look really weird to people. He's also wrecked his motorcycle and a few of his front teeth are missing. So, he can appear off. That's the way he appeared to me at first.

But it was really the way he was that made me like him and give him a chance. He had all these interesting quirks, he would roll by my work to smoke with me, and he hardly ever spoke. The first night we hooked up, I thought I only liked him platonically. I realized I liked him sexually too because up close and personal, no longer scared to look at him, I actually do find him attractive physically. He couldn't believe me at first. He thought I was super hot and he thought I thought he was ugly. It made me upset because I knew that was coming, so I told him individually what I love about his face, including his messed up teeth.

I never understood it myself, why attractive girls would want to be with guys that others would see as not attractive. Now I get it. I really do love his looks and his personality all the same. It's hard to explain why, probably because it's more of an evolutionary thing. It's just the way our brains are that may depend on who we find attractive, even if others do not think the same.

That's why I think there is an opportunity for everyone regardless of attraction. It can be a beautiful thing, even for people with disabilities who are worried no one will love them because of it. There are many people who can look past those disabilities because they are in love and they see it as another part of that person in a good way.

It's a bit of a stereotype. Guys wanna bang any girl they are attracted to. They is some social cache for men to have attractive women be with them. I think for women it is more subtle less visible.

A real relationship is based on chemistry and emotions, sure there is initial attraction, but looks aren't everything. So that's why bring an outsider looking in, that's why you see mismatched couples that look weird to you.
