However I don't have problem with dating costs if there is a big disparity between my discretionary income and hers but I would expect us to be able to have fun at lower cost places/activities. If I wanted to to a high end restaurant it would be wrong for me to expect a split bill that she can't afford. In effect I would be spending her money in doing that.

The threshold is between joint activities and purely personal expenses like rent, gas etc.
