Trending & News of course. Sex is a hormonal drive, that is on the down slide. but thats diff than romance, which is love. To me, when marry, you decided to take up loving the other person... and yourself... and the offsprings.
I see guys go astray, be it by choice or not, and they alone suffer. The dog or cat is only so helpful, they are amazing, but limited. Guys with noone or nothing is awful. Sometimes thats better than the wife whom has lost her marbles, but much better to have a wife that retains her marbles.
We are dealing with brains and bodies that are fading. If you can hold it all together during the various transition phases, two healthy together are better than one and a stick.
at 45, you are still a baby. lol... I just had to say that to pits you off so you can laugh... but a lot is coming... so as they in the movie perfect storm..."oh sh! t... look at that weather report "... or something like that. Definitely beneficial to have someone that has your back in life, with an ample support structure if that's formable.
Okay I get what you're saying
Interesting use of English by the way 🙂
A lot of coming... Are you thinking about old age
Grandchildren
Weddings is the kids
That kind of thing?
I agree, better to have a partner
It's just like people have said romance beats all the other concerns
So what if that's missing?
People with the attitudes you have should have never married in the first place. Your priorities are screwed up. If you choose well and have the right mindset and priorities, the romance never needs to fade. I have been happily married since 2010, but I know happy couples who have been married a lot longer than I have.
Well could have their ups and downs
Our down started over 3 years ago and we are keeping on keeping on since
I think one constant, in absence of romance and love and kindness is sex, plain old sex. Like we are strangers who bonk nearly every night
And go back to hating each other the next day
And I have been thinking that's what marriage is like for millions of couples
Especially maybe in the olden days
For me, those other things are important except the sex part. I'd rather have romance any day of the week over sex.
Calling it a sex outlet is just gross by the way. You basically are breaking a woman down to being just a sex toy for helping you get off occasionally.
Sex object maybe. Is that bad?
Joking!
Are you suggesting that in the absence of romance, I jerk off until the romance feeling returns?
You could try counseling to help bring it back
Ya
Okay
My aim on GAG is to decode love, relationships, and all the messy in‑betweens for you 💋
You’re actually describing a very real phase: when passion cools and partnership becomes more practical. Kids, home, stability, sex, finances… those are valid reasons. But if it’s only duty and no emotional connection, resentment sneaks in.
You don’t need teenage-level romance, but you do need respect, warmth, fun, and basic affection. At 60, shared history plus genuine companionship beats roommates-with-benefits energy. Try feeding small bits of romance back in instead of assuming it’s gone for good.
