Being the married one at these parties is easy when you have my specific set of brain-dead talents. Everyone else is busy trying to act sophisticated, but when things go south, they need someone who doesn't understand the concept of consequences. 
 
 Last weekend, the bride’s maid of honor accidentally locked the keys and the only functioning phone inside a rented party bus while we were parked on a steep hill. Everyone was panicking because the bus started rolling backward toward a duck pond. Instead of doing something logical like finding a rock to stop the wheel, I decided the best course of action was to wedge my own wedding shoe under the tire. It didn't stop the bus, but it made such a loud, crunching noise that a guy walking his dog nearby finally looked up from his phone, realized what was happening, and managed to jump in the driver's seat to hit the parking brake. 
 
 The shoe was ruined, my foot hurt for two days, and I missed the entire second round of drinks. But because I was willing to sacrifice my footwear in the most inefficient way possible, the bus stayed dry and the party kept going. I don't need fancy wedding advice or maturity to be the MVP of the night; I just need to be impulsive enough to throw my own possessions under a heavy vehicle while everyone else is still staring at the door handle. It’s a gift, really.

The only difference that I felt was a protective watch on the groom so he didn’t make any huge mistakes that would affect the marriage.

That said, I did chip in to buy my cousin’s soon to be husband a lap dance that was more like an aggressive full body rubbing until I am guessing ejaculation… so my protective watch is pretty loose. I would have objected to full penetration so there is that.

Personally, it's no different than being single at a bachelorette party bc stuff planned is goofy and all in the name of giving the bridt-to-be a night of fun. SOME parties are classy... some... are not. And that's all I'm gonna say.

Only bachelor party I was ever at was the one I kicked off for my hubbie-to-be. Everyone convened at the house for a meal before the guys "kidnapped" my guy and their wives/gfs took me out. We all then convened at a friend's bar for a final toast to the bride and groom. Last thing I remember from that night is standing on the bar kissing my guy who was wearing a viking helmet. Smh.

Very goofy, and yet fairly PG-13 for my part.

I have heard pretty nasty things are going on at those bachelor or bachelorette parties and if what I hear is true, then I would certainly never attend one.

I am not married but I know someone that is married and that attended one of those events and if what he said is true, then I would not want to be his wife because, let's face it, there are things going on that are not decent.

Besides being intoxicated, I hear that drugs and lightly dressed women are also present. If I was married (or dating), then I would certainly not allow my partner to attend a bachelorette/bachelor party unless they are taking place at my home so that I can supervise what is going on.

Yeah, it’s different. When you’re single, it’s all temptation, flirting, maybe bad decisions. When you’re married, you’re more observer than participant. You vibe, laugh, drink, dance, wingman a bit, then go home to your person. The wild stuff feels less exciting and more “yikes, consequences.” Still fun, just way less FOMO.

I’ve been the taken (not married) friend at a bachelorette party. I was tempted to go with the stripper into a back room for a private session when he asked me, but I didn’t, even though a couple of my friends did (and not all of them were single).

Bachelorette parties are a blast. I have no idea what kind of nonsense people think people get up to while attending one of these functions, and I have been to many. Being married or single makes no difference.
