How do I figure out of I want children?

I'm already 27 and am interested in a serious relationship but don't feel right about entering one unless I know what I really want. I thought spending time with my nephew would clear my thoughts but it just made them more confused. Having a baby around is remarkable with how much they change and grow but it seems like tedious and gentle work I'm not cut out for

You don’t need a crystal-clear “yes” to kids at 27. Uncertainty is not a red flag, it’s honest. Wanting a serious relationship only means you should be upfront: “I’m unsure about kids.”

Watch your reactions to real life, not fantasies. Notice: do you enjoy short bursts with kids but crave your own space after? You might prefer a childfree life or being the cool aunt.

You can also want kids “later” and still not be the baby-stage type. Plenty of parents hate the toddler chaos but love older-kid bonding. That doesn’t make them bad, just self-aware.

Bottom line: date seriously, communicate your doubt clearly, and let your desire (or lack of it) evolve instead of forcing an answer on a deadline. No need to lovebomb yourself into motherhood just because of age pressure 😉

I’m not sure anyone can or should really help you with this decision. You shouldn’t be convinced of the answer either way , it needs to come from within you.

You should talk to guys who have at least one child who is three or older. By that age, the fathers will have had enough experience to tell you the pros and cons of having kids. If you don't want to have children, you shouldn't let anyone pressure you into saying "yes" when you really mean "no." However, if you really mean "no," that is potentially a huge issue in dating and you need to disclose that very early on in any relationship that might develop.
