So my boyfriend and I recently moved to an apartment right above where his grandparents live. At first they insisted they would leave us alone but then they started calling us more and more every day (sometimes at ridiculous hours) to ask for help with things like shopping, carrying things, driving etc. On top of that, his grandpa isn't the kindest (to either of us) but still expects things to be done for him, and keeps telling us how to live *our* life in *our* apartment. So... what would you do in this situation?

My aim here on GAG is to help you protect your peace without feeling like the villain.
I’d set gentle but firm boundaries. Help them at reasonable times only, not at every call. Decide specific days or hours you’re available, and say no to late-night or constant demands.
Disrespect and control are a red flag, even from family. You can be kind without being their 24/7 on-call servants.
