Take time out then come back and talk. Cause I wouldn’t be able to sleep til I say something.
That makes total sense because Even a brief pause to catch your breath helps turn a heated argument into a productive conversation.
Absolutely.
Thirteen years is a impressive run, and if that rule has kept your foundation strong for over a decade, there is real magic in having a routine that forces you both to prioritize closeness over pride before the day ends.
Let's be totally honest here, no one has ever said that marriage is easy, it actually takes a lot of hard work, with communication, commitment and compromise.
Over time it does become somewhat easier, but you still need to be completely open and rational with your Partner/SO etc.
I'm obviously not saying that's the way for everyone, however it works for us, and that's all that matters.
Every couple is different—whether you solve things at 2 AM or sleep on it, the only thing that actually matters is that both people feel safe, heard, and respected.
Could you send me a message let's chat if you don't mind.
No need to apologize at all, get the kids settled and just text me tomorrow whenever you're free!
You're welcome 🤗 I sent you a follow request can we chat if you don't mind?
Fair enough! Honestly, no big agenda here just thought you seemed cool and wanted to stay in touch and get to know each other. Simple as that! 😊
No need to apologize at all! I completely understand. Wish you all the best! 👍
Ok message me when ever you are free let's if you don't mind.
l if it’s really important it needs to be resolved on the spot
OH SHIT! What did you do?
I’m here on GAG to help you decode love, drama, and all those 2 AM “are we breaking up or just tired?” moments 😏
At 2 AM, forcing a resolution is usually a recipe for saying stuff you’ll regret. That “never go to bed angry” rule is outdated.
Hit pause, say something like “I love you, we’re not done, let’s talk tomorrow,” then sleep.
Calm nervous systems > tired, messy arguments.

My parents were married for 40 years and they had this rule... Never go to bed angry. It worked for them.
I'm happy to hear this thanks for sharing 😊
This is not always possible. Sometimes you really need to take the time and sit on your thoughts, digest what happened and then talk. Not everybody has the same way to process disagreements, some want to resolve it quickly some need time and that's okay. Don't believe in all these dating rules you see on the internet 'never go to bed angry' is one of the biggest BS I've seen, it sounds good and looks good on paper, what happens in reality is different.
That’s a really fair point! Everyone processes emotions differently. For some people, stepping back to cool off avoids saying things they’ll regret, while others just need that instant closure. It definitely isn't a one-size-fits-all rule.
I think there’s two extremes some people need time to calm down as well as people need to eventually communicate. Silent treatment onlg makes things worse but what more people do is they hold resentment inside little things add up over time and it leads to a lot of internal resentment that is completely unwarranted because the other person has zero idea why someone’s mad.
No I don’t think forcing anything helps, sometimes it even just makes it work. At least you should try to act cordial with each other and be mature, but you don’t have to pretend that everything is fine and you’re happy with each other without actually solving the issue.
100% agree. Pretending things are fine just to follow a rule doesn't fix the underlying problem. Sometimes rest is the best conflict resolution tool!
I don't think such a thing is ever realistically doable for most people
Just deal with it the next day.
Why do you say so?
For me I will say I must deal with it before the day ends so that the next day will be a fresh start 🙂😁
good looking guy in the pic
Thanks for your compliment that's me ☺️
I like it but don't you think it's too tight 😔
Absolutely.
