I used to prefer humble girls and looking back at it, if I had gotten together with one I probably would have at some point started competing with them for being even humbler than they are, because that is what my father did to my mother.

Now I make a connection. You used to talk about soulmate sort of fantasies, which is a specific kind of flavor of trauma going hand in hand with excessive humility. Not even being submissive in the perv definition but conflict avoiding, is what causes people to thump "true love" stuff.
