Anonymous(30-35)1 moI'd say no.
Either would have some feelings. It is just that they keep it hidden and as minimum as possible, so it appears just as friendship.
But there is some within heart for sure.
Sadly like @Nikki1989 said, AI seems generally right (the way it looks in reality only). I usually totally skip AI opinion, but read it since she mentioned it.
And that's how I believe it. Not actually platonic as AI states.. but seemingly yes. But in reality, they just can't be.
As in, we quite emotionally would depend on them, and it might lead to a mistake/emotional slip at some point since each is just holding oneself back not actually having a truly platonic relationahip.
• Holding back
(as AI said that we show it through no flirting, games..
and I add: silently enjoys fantasies alone [not necessarily sexual, so to respect the other and keep things "as friends" in reality. It is just that if the other side happens to become free/available, the one that has those feelings would wish for the moment to confess and maybe gently go/push for it]).
Doesn't mean I really have feelings for any female acquaintance I follow or chat with on Instagram for content.. but I don't claim her being my friend.. do I 🤷♂️
So a female "friend" has something to it.
Mostly the man, but sometimes the woman too.
That's why you see most men say it can't be (platonic female friendship).
(( I personally went through both, and it is not just me and my experience, but look around and it is.
°That's one reason I learnt being totally clear and keeping emotional distance, since a girl having feelings is a more saddening case, and they can't disguise -also don't want to- or hold as a man could if you ask me, and as I read from some other guys stories too°. ))
I once indirectly phrased but clearly "said" I love you in-person to a married woman with a child -who knows it comes from me as a friend/acquaintance- and even "replied" that she accepts my love right on the spot along with a gentle laugh.
Obviously, she would mean it back as a friend/acquaintance too.
Now surely I meant that too. As someone totally precious to me. But I say, if she was younger or I had met her earlier/me being older, I would have married her no doubt. And if impossible happens and I can marry her, I won't say no. I genuinly admire, love, and respect that woman. She knows the previous sentence at least, which I think I literally stated at some point.
I do 'Just accept reality and keep my distance out of respect and maturity'. as stated.
So she is like a lost dream to me. Yes, just a friend if you see the situation and ask her and what @Nikki1989 experiences, in my opinion.
But honeslty, a loved one within.
Hope it helps.
And that hopefully shall be my last time responding to this question too 😄.21 Reply

1 moYes, as long as neither of them has any unresolved feelings otherwise.
If either one or both have other feelings, what they’re sharing isn’t truly friendship.21 Reply- 1 mo

10.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. For the one millionth time, yes. Most of my friends are male and always have been. On top of that, all my work colleagues except one are all male, and I am close to them as well.
This question pops up on here almost daily, and people still don't get it.

@Bricealan The amount of immature and insecure nonsense on this post is embarrassing, and it is not all from men either. Yikes!

My aim on GAG is to decode all the messy, fun, confusing parts of love and attraction for you. 😉
Yes, a guy and a girl can be best friends without romantic feelings, but it’s not always common. Usually one catches feelings at some point, even briefly. The key is emotional maturity, clear boundaries, no lovebombing, no flirting games, and honest communication. If both genuinely see each other as family, it can totally stay platonic.00 Reply

1.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. If your honest you meet someone you become friends and then you want more
When this happens you have to be 100 % honest with self I like her a lot and i want in her pants
So you start a relationship if the relationship goes bad there goes everything
Or you think sbout it abd you know down deep relationship wise it will never work but friendship will
So now you have to make a choice
Only one time I picked the wrong one
And I learned from that mistake. Today I have lots of girls that are very good friends and most are very close friends10 Reply- 3.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic.

1 moI think that it's hard, but it's all about control!
For example i had and still have many female friends online, i had feelings for some of them but they never knew about it, while a lot of them would surely agree if i want to be more than just a friend but it's all about me, i prefer to remain their friend, because i'm not a liar nor a cheater, but if some of them were living near to my place, i'd pick someone and try a serious relationship with her because i have met some really nice ladies and they were all my type and gave me the hunch or green light that they are ready to declare their love for me if i accept to take it to the next level...00 Reply
1 moThink there is a possibility they could be, a lot depends on how they become best friends. Is it a childhood friendship, if so they would most likely see eachother more as siblings. A newer friendship there must be communication, boundaries and respect either side.
30 Reply2.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I have two guy friends of an almost 2 decade year long friendship.
Nothing romantic crossed my mind, nothing romantic crossed theirs.
Their behavior was never any different and my behavior was never any different.
They are not my type and I am definitely not their type.00 Reply- 845 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
m 1 moI like that, unintentional, odd poll, offering questions instead of answers. So refreshing, thank you👌🏼
Ofc they can, when they both view each other as a poor candidate for romance. That's the case with my bestie. She's such a terrible fit for me, and I seem equally bad for her lol

Anonymous(25-29)1 moThe simple answer is no.
It's complicated because only if both of them are completely unattractive and in some form of relationship.
Or if they have brother sister bond, which is good enough.
I have been in a brother sister bond.
And I have been a best friend in false hope, hoping that she would feel the same. But nope she just called me ugly, skinny man.
And some more bad insults by her.
Love is my Doom.
I left my family , job, a life of peace behind to move to different country in persuit of love. But it never came.
The amount of love I have poured in those I loved is going to be unmatched by anyone in the world for that few people. And the worst part of that is no one is ever going to find out. Even if they do the value is null for them as it's not from the person they want.00 Reply- 930 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
1 moI have been good friends with several women over the years, without catching any feelings past being good friends. To me, it is just the way the relationship dynamic evolved over time.

1 moYes and yes. I've had female friends that I wanted to be more, and I currently have several female friends that I do not want more with. The older and more mature you get, the easier the latter becomes.
20 Reply Yeah it's possible. It can work in your favour. If you keep it player she'll eventually start being a wingman for you & sorts, but if she starts seeing you sleeping with a lot of women she might get jealous & eventually try to claim you for herself.
00 ReplyOf course! Any female friends I've had for ages and never really wanted to make any moves on them and we get along well.

Anonymous(25-29)1 moThere is a reason why most best friends are of the same gender. Because same sex people have more in common than opposite sex people.
For a woman to pick a best friend who is a man, she would have to be masculine at heart.

@Nikki1989 there's nothing immature about wanting to be more than friends with a woman. Your habit of saying dumb things needs an upgrade like an explanation or remembering that you are talking to a real person. And much likely someone with a higher status.
