I wouldn’t say it’s immature, but it really does no good. As a matter of fact the person may be hurting themselves by hiding g a grudge because it does not allow them to grow, to move on. Forgiving someone allows the person to grow, to find peace in their life. Forgiving them doesn’t mean you have to be friends, call them every weekend or something like that. You’re moving n but you don’t forget what once was.

It's almost always a result of scapegoating. You hold a frudge because you  are  hurt but also the grudge does not go away because the person you're punishing with it isn't the cause of it.

Holding a grudge isn’t automatically immature. Sometimes it’s a sign of deep hurt, betrayal, or repeated disrespect. The “immature” part is when you cling to it just to punish someone or feed your ego. Protecting yourself = healthy boundary. Obsessing and replaying it forever = emotional self-sabotage.

It can. But i wouldn't call it, "immature". I would call it having a "sick heart". I know i'm quoting a show, not something Jesus actually said (at least not to my knowledge). But why do we hold grudges? Because we were wronged? Is it seeking revenge or retribution? Even if it's not that do we do it as future protection?

I don't have an easy answer for you as this is something i struggle mightily with. God says if you fogive he cannot fogive you. Not that he doesn't want to forgive you, he does. But he's saying you cannot hear and understand him if your heart is not at peace.

Knowing and doing are two different things. We must forgive. I know this and we must trust in God's justice and righteousness. I know, but i struggle with this. So know i'm right there with you.😞

Holding a grudge? What do you mean by that? I never want to see my abusive ex-wife again because no good can come of it. Is that a grudge?

In life things happen & unfortunately some people hold grudges. As for holding a grudge depending on the situation it could be immature but not always. As for holding a grudge sometimes people get hurt & sometimes people hurt because of them.
