No need to overanalyze things like, “if they’re doing this, saying that, blah blah.” If something feels excessive, whether he’s trying to make me happy or just being nice, it’s gonna raise red flags regardless of his intentions.

Ton of words, barely deeds means no love. Another indicator, people who love you practically stick on you at night, while in phases when they don't love your they sleep with their back to you. There are a lot of signs of body language which show who is who, there are thick books about that.

I don't know. Sometimes they are trying too hard to impress you at first and spending too much then they realise they can't afford to keep it up but that doesn't mean it was ill-intended lovebombing. Just go with your gut I guess.
