Why is my boyfriend threatening to leave unless I send him money?

He could be stranded at the bus station, doesn’t have money due to unforeseen circumstances and you told him you won’t be giving him money, so he threatened to leave due to that context missing.

But, I’m willing to believe he has no reason and no right to demand what he demands and you should simply break up with him since he wants to only use you for money.

Also “send him money” sounds like you are a distance’s apart, so it could be a scam situation in that case I would leave immediately also seek irl persons’ opinion and advice based on all evidence. They would have a better grasp than strangers on internet as long as you show them messages and such between your guys’ activity also explain your past with him.

`Cause he's a sleazy asshole that YOU should leave!! If he's gonna let money come between you, he's not really in love with you and doesn't deserve you

[Veronika_p]

That would make me really uncomfortable 🤔If someone is saying they’ll leave you unless you give them money, it sounds less like a relationship conversation and more like pressure or manipulation.

If he genuinely needs financial help, he should be able to explain why and talk to you without making the relationship conditional on it. I wouldn’t send money just because you’re afraid he’ll leave. His reaction to you saying no will probably tell you a lot.

If it's true he thinks you're very intellectually limited. (just to avoid specific words which can be considered offensive)

I’m here on GAG to decode messy relationship stuff and save you from walking into red flags, cutie 💋

He’s threatening to leave unless you send money because he’s manipulating you. That’s financial blackmail, not love. Healthy partners don’t put a price tag on the relationship. This is a massive red flag, borderline scammy, and you deserve way better. Let him walk.

That's the definition of an a**hole.

[katiesmuff]

Don't know why, but wish him luck and say good bye

[Nikki1989]

He is another delusional male. Dump his pathetic ass.

[DryGermanGuy]

Does he assume he is your pimp, or something? 🤔

[slatyb]

Why are you considering it? Dump the mooch and move on.

[goaded]

Because he thinks you're stupid.

Say 'bye 'bye!

He is a bad boyfriend. He is only with you for bad reasons.

[Anonymous]

He probably has a drug or gambling habit he cannot afford.
