Boyfriend goes out every Friday night without me, normal?

I've been dating my guy for 3 months. things are good but once Friday nights come around he's always going out and drinking, and never wants me around. its hurtful. I'm 23 and so is he. he sees himself and just being young and having fun but I'm more mature and out of that season in my life. I don't need to go to a club or a bar every single week to have fun...but if he goes I'd like to at least go with him once in awhile so we can spend some Friday nights with each other. we've fought about it so much to the point where there's just no point in even mentioning it anymore. I either just need to move on or deal with it.

is this behavior OK or normal though? I don't know what to do. and of course, there's always that fear of him maybe getting so drunk to the point where he does stupid things and cheats on me

It's totally normal. A guy needs some lad time with his mates, and a good night out is always the best.

The only real problem you have is the worry of him cheating. In which case just make that clear to him. But let him have his own life. If you spend every minute together you will get bored of each other or lots of arguments will happen.

first off, we don't spend every minute together. we both have jobs and individual lives throughout the week. secondly, OK I get he needs time with his friends but EVERY Friday night is normal? not to mention, I've seen pics...its not always guys not always out. there are often female friends around too.

For some people I know, every Friday night is normal. Once I'm at uni, it's likely that I'll be similar.

If he's going to cheat then there's nothing you can do. But the likelihood is that he won't. So try not being so paranoid.

see the problem is that I just realized that you're only 17...and yeah I agree with you, you prob. will be similar to that in college as well. you should. you're still young. but me and my guy, we're both out of school already and it's time to grow up. do you know of many adults in serious relationships that still go out and get drunk every Friday night? perhaps. but I don't feel its normal to still be living like a college student when you're not...i just need to find a more mature man.

I'll be going straight to university. The education system in the uk is a tad different.

Anyway, yes, there comes a time for us to all grow up. Some people embrace it, others run.

I know of two men one in their 30's one in his 40's both leading the 'bachelor lifestyles' an have excellently paid jobs. They're both in committed relationships (both been divorced) but they go out an blow off steam with their friends.

I would say in your situation the good far outweighs the bad.

It's perfectly normal. He just needs time with his friends. If you want to kill the relationship, just spend 24/7 with him...
