When your boyfriend is a very inconsistent texter?

I usually wouldn't mind at all because I'd be seeing him in person, but he's been on vacation for two weeks and he'll be on vacation for another two weeks and he's really inconsistent with texting.

LIke I said I don't really care about it but when he's super inconsistent during the day I don't really know what to do. Also during the night, really late, it's a blast texting him and it's fun and he texts back right away..

WHat can I do about it?

Almost all guys are this way. Guys do NOT live for the phone like girls do, and guys also do not multitask well like girls do, so if they get caught up with something else (their job, a TV show, a video game, trimming their fingernails, whatever), they won't pay attention to their phone until they're done.

So, bottom line is that he's a guy, and guys usually don't interrupt their normal lives to respond immediately to texts; rather, they'll set aside some time where texting is the ONLY thing they're doing and will text you then. If it's important enough that you need an immediate response, then CALL.
