I asked a guy hitting on my girlfriend to back off. She's really mad at me. How do I make things alright?

A guy on her Facebook keeps making flirtatious remarks and keeps hitting on her. I never liked it. I don't like it.

I told my girlfriend that I don't like it. She said "yeah. I know. But I can't help it. He's the one flirting. I'm not flirting back."

If he messages, she always talks about me reminding him over and over again that she has a boyfriend (me).

But he still continued.

It angered me a little bit and I told him to back off.

he responded saying "you're weird".

She is utterly disappointed and told me that I made a complete joke out of her.

How do I fix this? I feel terrible.

Theory 1: He is actually giving you a compliment by saying you have good taste in women. Don't spoil it with her with insecurity and mistrust. If she talks about you in a good light to him, what's the big deal?

Something similar happened to me when my girlfriend was with me last. We went to a bar close to my house, and I noticed a guy at the next table checking her out as she was dancing sitting with me. As I left to hail a taxi, the guy goes over to talk to her. I think he gave her his number and deleted it. I panicked! I think you can see where this is going... (She ended up saying to me to check her phone.)

At the end of the day, you have to trust your lady. If not, you're going to lose her anyway.

Theory 2: If she enjoys this attention, then you need to end it. A WOMAN always puts herself first, then her husband/boyfriend. A GIRL encourages the flattery regardless of boyfriend. Is this what you want?

One way to know which Theory it is, ask simply and directly: "Do you like this kind of attention?" You'll know either way, and it won't matter if she's lying or not because you'll know from her body lanaguage.

Tbh if he really is being a perv and won't understand you and your girlfriend. I would suggest to just get away from him. If he persists. Get him in a group of people and beat his ass, make him shameful but dont say to much but tell him to stop hitting on your girl anx you do not appreciate it whatsoever.

lol. yeah I hate it when people think that you're in the wrong when you are not. it's just annoying. =/ anyways. I don't think you did anything wrong. I guess it's embarrassing for her because her boyfriend came and seemed jealous or over protective. Maybe that's why. But he shouldn't have done it openly like that or w.e. It doesn't look good for you if you just let it continue and he doesn't know where he stands.

That would be the only reason I'd be upset =/ that you came off a certain way and everyone saw that. but I'd be like whatever idc I can get jealous and sh*t but I'm not ganna talk to the other chick or w.e. about it.

I'd tell him that I don't feel comfortable with it and that he should tell her that she shouldn't act that way around him (especially if it is highly inappropriate type of flirting) and that he should do something about it. I don't mind flirting with other chicks as long as it's not over the top and for everyone that I know to witness it especially if he flirts back. nah uh..nope. check yourself. lol.

I can kinda see where she's coming from cause I would hate for my s.o to do that BUT that's because I am perfectly capable of looking after myself and would have put this guy back in his box ever before my s.o would have the chance. In a face to face situation it can become more difficult to get rid of a guy as some guys will go after a girl specifically because she's not available. However as this was over Facebook she could easily have just not responded to him and completely ignored him. She could have handled this a lot better. Maybe she feels as though you were being possessive or jealous but she should have more respect for you than to keep replying to some ass on Facebook

You could fix this by letting her handle the situation. Honestly, if I was a guy and I was in this sitaution I would have done the same thing. I think she should have just ignored this guy if he kept flirting with her. Maybe she could have blocked him. And also the fact that he knows she has a boyfriend but keeps talking to her shows that he is a complete idiot. I would be pissed! lol Talk to your girlfriend and ask her why she hasn't blocked him already and how she knows him. You should not feel terrible, because you have not done anything wrong.

You told her you weren't comfortable with it, and she pretty much said 'so what'. That's not OK. She needs to make your needs a priority. Whose more important to her? You or him. She put you in an awkward situation and you responded the best way you saw fit. This is her doing and if she had acted accordingly right away, you wouldn't have had to say anything. Don't feel terrible, it's not your fault.

well for 1. flirting is not cheating. you could be flirting with someone as well and its considered as not cheating.

for 2. if she gets aroused at it then ill say either go with it or cut it off.

its a whole different story if she private messaging him. or even ext him and not showing her your phone that considered cheating.

i would say only if you catch her cheating them she is.

but if he's just flirting with her don't be mad because later on your going to get some action not him.

Don't feel terrible your girlfriend should of had more respect for you. It's as if she loves the attention that guy is feeding off to her through Facebook and now she's "upset" because you decided to take actions into your own hands. You didn't make a joke out of her it seems like it was the other way around.
