Who's more clingy in your relationship?

Question

okay, for those who have/had relationships, who's (was) more clingy you or your girlfriend/boyfriend?

and for those who don't have a relationship, and never have had one yet, would you want your girlfriend/boyfriend to be clingy or would you be the clingy one?

okay to answer the first question, I'm the more clingy than my girlfriend right now,

I like just having my arm around her and I love it when she sits in my lap ;)

Being clingy can be one's nature to begin with.

But mostly those who are clingy are either insecure or it's plainly their nature to be too emotional.

Clingy is something that is found commonly in small kids / toddlers or before. toddlers or babies are the most insecure creatures :) (no negativity intended, it's just a fact).

Those who are clingy generally term it as their love for you. Can't blame them as that is how they genuinely see it.

One also goes clingy when they adore the other person so much that they believe they can never find anyone better than that person ever. This may not be due to insecurity (or maybe too) but plainly that they want to give everything to that person and also feel every heartbeat, eye flutter and breath of that person (even if they don't know to describe it as such).

I'd prefer neither being clingy nor my partner being so.

Some people genuinely are clingy and don't know what to do if they aren't always up in their partner's business. That being said, some people just prefer to be in contact more than others. That doesn't necessarily mean they are clingy, just hat they like to be close more often. Some people need more space. As long as someone doesn't need too much/little space, or too little/much contact, then things are healthy. It depends upon the individuals.

My boyfriend is the hopeless romantic. I'm the realist.

He's clingy. When we're out in public or with his friends, he has his arm around me all the time, which is all fine and good, but I'd rather he not hang all over me when we're around our parents.

He always needs hugs, always is touching me, always sends me the romantic texts and buys me stuff for no apparent reason even though I've asked him not to. He has gotten more clingy since I've left for college. When he visits me he always is touching me and kissing me and playing with my hair and petting me and grooming me and hugging me and sometimes I just want to shove him away and breathe.

But I really don't mind it all that much. It's like a need for him, to be able to touch me at all times, it's not a need for me.

It works out okay.

With my ex, I was clingy in the first year of our relationship. But he kept getting angry at me for wanting to spend 4 days a week with him, I got tired of it, and I stopped.

In the last year of our relationship, he was the more affectionate and clingy one.

As for my next relationship, I don't want clinginess at all. Perhaps a healthy amount (it's good to see each other 2-3 times a week, especially when we're both busy college students at different schools). But being overly clingy is a sign of insecurity. It makes a relationship unhealthy and can push your SO away..

Unless you're talking about affection? Who shows more affection? I would want my next boyfriend to be affectionate, but not overly so. I'm not a huge fan of PDA.

I passed this for a day...not knowing what to put. 6 months ago...a year ago..two years ago..three years ago..for sure he was

But I've been super affectionate lately so is that clingy stuff?

Now this isn't saying he's a baby just the one who craves attention more. Lol I even have instances in which he will do things just to get my attention :) it's actually really cute

I hate to admit it, but yes I'm definitely clingy. I try not to be, but it just happens. I fall way too hard for guys way too fast. I've gotten a lot better though. But what I mean by being clingy, I don't mean really touchy cause I'm not like that. I just always have to be talking to them and whatnot. Its baaad. maybe that's why I've been single for the past 3 years? #foreveralone

I'm single right now, thank God, because every guy I date is absurdly clingy.  I have no idea why clingy guys are attracted to me when there are all these clingy girls around who are desperate for equally clingy boyfriends.  I hope my next one isn't clingy.

I think it's good to have a balance, you don't want one person desperately clinging to the other, one because that can get really annoying, and two because you don't want one person in the relationship doing all the work and more. You both have to enjoy each others' presence, make an effort, and give each other breathing space for things to go smoothly.

I'm not clingy in so far as needing to see them all the time.. in needing to know where they are...

but I am clingy in wanting to feel their touch when we are together..

The both of us can be clingy, but are both independent, so we counter balance it pretty well

When I don't fight for her attention, she fights for mine...its crazy lol

I think I am more clingy that my bf... I wish he was the clingy one! Oddly enough, I feel like he likes me more than I like him? Yet... he doesn't need to be in contact all the time with me... very confusing!
