Ladies, how do you act around men when you have a boyfriend?

Recently, I noticed a lady friend of mine act really flirty around other guys even though she was in a relationship. The boyfriend wasn't around at the time but she told me that her boyfriend is aware that she's a compulsive flirt.

While I don't care if she does that. It's her life. But I found this a bit odd. You'd think that if you were in a monogamous relationship, the flirting would only be between you and your SO.

So I'm curious if you'd still flirt if you were in a relationship or not. Or how would you act in general so that the other person knows that you're in a relationship so that he doesn't try anything besides directly telling him?

I act polite and friendly like I would with any person. I would not flirt with them at all. That would be wrong and it'd give them the wrong idea. I will just get to know a bit about them out of interest. They tend to ask what I've been up to or what I'm going to be up to and so I'll usually say that I'm going to spend time with my boyfriend and then they get the hint. :) Actually, one guy in work twisted it a bit to find out if I had a boyfriend by asking what I was up to on the weekend and when I said not much, he said, 'so you're not spending time with your boyfriend?' and I then told him I didn't have one (because I didn't at the time). I should've lied though because that guy hasn't stopped asking me out ever since and even bribes me so I'll date him haha!

I will never say, 'I have a boyfriend so f*** off' or anything haha! I treat them respectfully but keep my distance at the same time.

I don't flirt when I'm with someone, I don't think it's very honorable. If someone tries to hit on me they know right away I'm seeing someone. Its too disrespectful toward your SO to hit on someone whether it comes "natural" or not

it depends what you mean by flirting.

i can talk to some men, and they think I'm flirting, but I'm just being friendly. I'm generally quite chatty, open and friendly around men whether I'm in a relationship or not. but there are certain limits such as touching innapropriately e.g. his thigh or stroking his hair, and certain conversation topics, e.g. detailed sex stories

im in a monogamous relationship and I find talking to the opposite sex quite easy as there is no pressure to impress them. but each to their own I guess.

Politely. I don't act too eager for their attention, I don't encourage conversation. If the guy asks me for my number or to hang out, I tell them that I have a boyfriend. If they say that they don't mind and we could hang out as friends, I give them a chance. But if they try to make a move or anything, the friendship is over. I don't like to hang out with other guys one-on-one unless we'd been friends for a while before my relationship began.

I tend to act more relaxed with other guys when I'm in a relationship, since the pressure of a potential relationship with them is gone. Some guys may mistake that for flirting, but that's not how I intend it. If he starts to show interest, I always set him straight and let him know I'm taken and very loyal.

For one when I'm in a relationship I don't flirt with any other guys. I have no desire or interest in flirting with other guys when I'm with the one person I love and I only want his attention. To me personally even just flirting is very dishonest and sneaky. And around other guys I act like "one of the guys." And I'm always talking about my boyfriend and how much I love him.

When I'm in a relationship,I don't flirt with anyone else PERIOD.Its just not my style.I let whomever know I am in a relationship so their is no confusion.

Like I normally do. I've known my guy friend before I met my boyfriend. I'm terrible at flirting. So I just talk to my guy friend about lots of things.

That'd be considered disrecpectful if a girl flirts with other guys when her boyfriend is not around. I would act normally around my guy friends nothing too personal with any of them.

i talk about my boyfriend and how I'm so in love with him and how I don't feel attracted to anyone else. I also ask for advice. they get the picture and stop trying to flirt with me.
