Questions: Relationships

I think I know the answer to this question, but sometimes, younger users insistently tell me that “people have changed and dating has changed.” I don’t think the desire for an exclusive relationship is going to change just because you have a smart phone and a huge flat screen TV. But. . . I’m willing to consider the possibility that I am wrong, so. . . how do you feel about monogamy and a long term relationship? Does a long term relationship mean commitment to monogamy?

I think it has been and always will be women. And I still don't think the number of guys out there who are sad about not having a girlfriend really match, and not even the ones on GaG like I'm sure some are going to point out.

Today I'm seeing some of my female friends who are single or "just dating" posting stuff on Facebook that's about Valentine's Day being every day, or trying to post a bunch of random stuff to distract from it when some of them do not even really post that often.

Right now I'm single and not particularly trying to get into a relationship and I'm good with that. Only thing I can honestly say I'm really interested in is just having a sex partner, and I've even been lazy about pursuing that with how exhausted I feel by the time the weekend comes. So I try to take the easy way out by looking for hook ups online lol. There is a woman in an 'open marriage' who is open to sleeping with me but I just can't do it lol.

Anyway, what do you think? Are women bothered more by being single? Or men?

we were only a few months in the relationship before she had to move abroad with her family and I haven't seen her in about four months now. she's studying there. she never initiates talking about our future and when I do, she sounds unsure and hesitant and then tries to change the topic right away. she isn't cold or distant to me, though. she shows that she cares and says that she loves me. I dont know where im going with this, its hard to explain.

we haven't talked about when the long distance is going to be over. we only have the plan of when we're going to see each other again, and that is when she comes home for only a month or so.

its either she comes home for good, or I go to her some time in the future, but I dont think she wants either of those. should I be direct with her or wait for her to talk to me about it?

So my girlfriend of 4 years has fallen back in love with her ex who popped up out of nowhere. I have been very understanding and supportive so far since I looked at things from her perspective. However, if I look at my situation, it's really tough to be in. In this love triangle, there is a story from everyone's perspective. As far as I am concerned, I am unable to let her go. I am still talking and waiting patiently and making constant efforts that sometimes go futile. Future is uncertain. Someone give me the strength.
