The Ramadan Rebound: Ramadan Is Over, So Is My Taqwa?

So Ramadan is over. You are now reminding yourself "yeah I can take a bite of this sandwich at 12 noontime" although it still feels a little weird. You've spent all your Eid money unless you do some new concept called 'saving'. Selfies are uploaded. Sleeping schedule is....getting there. So what about spiritually? Where are you? I think a good amount of us may fall off our Ramadan improvements because we may get quickly sucked back into a dunya-focused surrounding. Me personally, I eat iftar every night at my masjid and now I'm away for a college thing out of my city, surrounded by non-Muslims. So I don't get the constant prayer reminders -obligatory or sunnah. I don't hear of new suwar learned or charity efforts implemented. I'm not sharing my fasting story or listening to the history of an inspiring past Muslim. So it's easy to rebound back into a pre-Ramadan state of mind or maybe something totally different but still away from what I was trying to achieve during Ramadan.

This is me with a bunch of stuff honestly.

I don't believe I am alone, though I know we are in very different situations. I just wanted to remind that if you find yourself falling off, just make intentions to do better the next day, ask for forgiveness, and keep trying. Try focusing on one thing to improve at a time. Don't give up. One aspect of Islam is constantly improving yourself. Don't let your efforts be futile. Reach out online and share with other Muslims. Or just listen to their stories. Or maybe listening to lectures is your thing. It's okay if you don't find an instant fix. It will take some time but don't give up or lose hope. Inshallah, you'll be pleasing Allah in your efforts.
