Common misconceptions about what the Bible teaches

Common misconceptions about what the Bible teaches

I have noticed a lot identifies as Christians while lacking the basic understanding of what the Bible actually teaches.
This is, of course, very understandable since most people have been thought by Churches with there own doctrines and political agenda.
I won't repeat anything about the trinity since it already been done here:

Trinity the central dogma of almost every Christian denomination

The word "hell" is found in many Bible translations. The same verses are also by others translated to "the grave", "the world of the dead" and so forth. The Hebrew she’ohlʹ and its Greek equivalent haiʹdes, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek geʹen·na, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished (and some believe that this is with torment).

Ecclesiastes 9:5 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
"5 For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten."

Psalm 146:4 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
"4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."

Ezekiel 18:4 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
"4 Behold, all souls are Mine. As the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die."

If they are conscious of nothing, they obviously feel no pain, the Bible makes it clear that Sheol or hell is not a place of eternal torment or punishment of eternal soles. The soul shall die as well, so the is no eternal soles, this too is unbiblical.

The Encyclopedia Americana (1942), Vol. XIV, p. 81
“Much confusion and misunderstanding has been caused through the early translators of the Bible persistently rendering the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades and Gehenna by the word hell. The simple transliteration of these words by the translators of the revised editions of the Bible has not sufficed to appreciably clear up this confusion and misconception.”

A lot more can be said, however, this should suffice for those who want to seek more knowledge about the subject.

How to stand before the God almighty with the name Jave or Jehovah

Another common misconception about forgiveness, will God forgive everything, can you will as you please and be a good human and live or will Jehovah judge you based on how you live your life, your intention and attitude!

We are all sinners and the sin leads to death

Romans 6:23 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
"23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

So how do we get eternal life through Jesus Christ, let see what Jesus said:

Matthew 19:16-25 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
"16 And behold, one came and said unto Him, “Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”

17 And He said unto him, “Why callest thou Me good? There is none good but One, that is, God. But if thou wilt enter into Life, keep the commandments.”

18 He said unto Him, “Which?” Jesus said, “‘Thou shalt do no murder; thou shalt not commit adultery; thou shalt not steal; thou shalt not bear false witness;

19 honor thy father and thy mother; and, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.’”

20 The young man said unto Him, “All these things have I kept from my youth up. What lack I yet?”

21 Jesus said unto him, “If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell what thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in Heaven; and come and follow Me.”"

So keeping the commandments is the key, the primary commandments being mentioned here:

Thou shalt do no murder
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness
Honor thy father and thy mother
Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself

There are other requirements, for instance, baptism and the removal of false religious beliefs even if it means breaking the bonds with the denomination of your choice. However, these are the essentials and the requirements before baptism is even possible.

Most people today will bear false witness meaning lie, commit adultery meaning having sex out of wedlock and steal. The continuation of this lifestyle will leads to eternal death, so these are the key changes anyone must undergo provided they wish to follow the Bible.

God is omnipotent. He created the perfect book. It is so perfect that so many people have disagreements on it. There are many different Christian factions based on these disagreements. This must be on purpose because otherwise he would have created a book that all people can agree upon (because he's God and knows all things, including how to write the perfect book). Therefore, God has created a book deliberately designed to create confusion and disagreements that have many times led to war and death.

Where there are two or more people there will be disagreement, so not sutch book could ever exists.

    • Exactly. It is not a perfect book.

    • No, no.

The bible is not at all god's word, with the exception of maybe Daniel and part of Jeremiah, because at least they are historically accurate anyway.

Even if God did inspire a perfect book though, your free moral agency would allow you to willfully reject it, or else invent false doctrines based on mis-quoting it anyway. So even a hypothetically perfect book wouldn't really solve the problem of humans rejecting God, nor committing any other sin for that matter..

most of us have done all of these expect maybe murder
we have all fallen short of the Glory of GOD

    • And because you have fallen short you are going to hell. Or not.

the only reason I even have a chance at heaven is cause of Christ

cause he knows deep down most of us want good things
and he wants to save all of us

but the person must admit fault and try to follow his word
and do what he ask you to do
      Matthew 10:22

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved

      I get mocked everyday
      nothing new
      doesn't even bother me anymore

That's not a problem. What IS a problem is that people think it's the inspired word of God. Nowadays we put people who have conversations with God in the booby hatch.

I am not worried about Atetismen, I am worried about the misunderstandings about the Bible by claimed Christians. Atheists or non-Christians doesn't blive anyway so who cares.

I care. If you don't care about others... Too bad for you. Don't have kids. They won't care either.

Get rid of the fucking KJV and get a NIV. Nobody speaks like that and the KJV does not make you a better Christian

KJV is one of the best for many reasons, but you can use any version you want from

    • reptocarl

No it isn’t. It’s an archaic piece of shit

    • reptocarl

Believe it or not the KJV has turned a lot of people away from the Bible and so has people praying using Elizabethen prose in prayer. I know. I’m a preachers kid. Another thing that’s turned many away is that hellfire and brimstone preaching

those sheol passages weren't actual doctrine from GOd, they were just jews talking aobut what they as a culture bleived at the time. the afterlife arrangement that jesus depicted in the new testament is very different.
