I got this idea from Jordan Peterson - I used to think he was a cultural social conforming quack but now I actually believe he is intelligent

he described the kingdom of God as the ultimate good

That is not how I would describe it

But I WOULD describe the righteousness of God as the ultimate Good

I believe when you seek first the ultimate duty which is the kingdom of God

and seek second the ultimate good which is the righteousness of God

that everything you want and need is added to you and you do not have anything to worry about

What modern society fails to understand, is that even if you're not religious, the Bible has some incredible stories and lessons on it, at a literary level.

Your last paragraph... I just can't believe that anymore. I just can't. Things are just getting worse with me. My anger is beginning to consume me. I feel like my whole life has been pointless. Working my ass of for an engineering degree is pointless. Everything about my life has just been pointless.
How can I keep believing my life has purpose?

God will give you happiness that exceeds anything a woman can give - I mean little children unless they are abused or sick or hungry are usually extremely happy all the time and their not married or dating or having sex - their happy because their innocent and God rewards them with joy - He can do the same for you - two of my female friends and one of my male friends said God comforted themselves during their break ups so that they were just as happy single as they were when they were dating

@Jennifer_bloom except after 26 years of life I've never had it. And honestly.. I can't take it anymore. I would give anything up to everything for one day of happiness. I would give anything just to have someone who loves me tell me good morning for just one morning of my life. I would give anything to have someone cry at my funeral one day just because they loved and cared for me. But I don't have any of that. How can I possibly be happy. I can't even appreciate life because to my very own parents I was a mistake. How can I exist knowing there will be someone out there who will love me when my own parents think that of me. If God truly cared and loved me he would not of allowed my existence. Maybe I was just a mistake to him as well.

Im not sure they call it Gospels of Thomas so that's what I'm going by

Okay. There are many writings that were written in the first century. Those who actually Jesus as he lived tend to be gospels. Others like writings from people like St. Ignatius Antioch were epistles to certain group group to propagate the massive of Jesus or to deal with the politics of the time in terms of beliefs of certain groups of people. I will check out the writings of Thomas. I assume you are referring to Thomas the apostle versus St. Thomas Aquinas.
