One critical thing I missed in my early years as an ignorant Christian

As a Christian I forgot to pray.

I thought that bible reading and service and obedience were all you needed to please God.

Having not prayed for God’s people for years I became desolate insides

It wasn’t until my 30s that I realized prayer was the fastest way for me to expedite my faith in God.

While all spiritual practices work:

Prayer is like an airplane.

While all other spiritual practices are like cars.

Prayer gets you there faster.

While some say they do not have time to pray.

God says he compensates you for your loss of time if you correctly follow Him.

I prayed everyday back when I was a Christian, and yeah, I guess it helped me quickly become an atheist, once I found out it didn't do anything. I haven't prayed for years, and it didn't ruin my life, surprisingly, when I stopped praying everyday was about when I started the happiest two years of my life. Strange how that happened. Maybe, it's a sign from our goddess?

Yes, I think pure faith is the most neglected facet of being a Christian. My whole family are Christians, but almost none are true believers, fanatics, as some would call them. Most just go through the motions without investing their hearts into it. That's why they recoil at some of the more ethereal parts of the faith. Revelations makes them cringe.

the only way to be a "non ignorant christian" is by acknowledging that god does not probably exist but that you are willfully choosing not to care and still follow that cult anyway.

I used to pray as a child growing up but as I got into my early adult 20's and early 30's, I stopped praying to God.
