What the bible says about honour

What the bible says about honour

The bible says a gracious woman gets honour but ruthless men gain only wealth, meaning, if you want honour, it’s not enough to be strong and tough and hard working and serious and ambitious, you also have to measure others by a sweet and acceptable standard. In biblical times, woman were often housed in closed communal settings without power or influence or exclusive ownership of property, and yet the scriptures say a kind woman, a woman with no power or influence because of her gender, gets more honour than ambitious, hardworking, powerful, wealthy and successful men who are cruel and judgmental of others. What we can conclude from this is that success does not equal wealth and honour does not equal success. Many people have wealth, but are hated by their community, their children, their wives or husbands, or their bosses, but the scriptures teach that being gracious leads to honour, even when you do not pursue honour for yourself or seeking it and also that money cannot buy love.
