Why it’s better to love people through God and not outside God

I read in my book about care giver burn out. Which is when somebody becomes so drained from trying to help others, they lose their energy, their compassion and their commitment to the welfare of others.

My friend cried herself to sleep while working as a humanitarian and died of cancer at 32. A guy on the news worked hard to film the trauma of suffering native communities and died less than 2 years after his award winning film. Rob Ford had cancer after getting bullied for his illegal drug addiction and a guy from church who was abused by an alcoholic dad got cancer before he turned 32 but got better.

I believe all these people were over zealous about helping others and neglected their own health and welfare in the process. Rob Ford was worth over 50,000,000 but he worked to improve people’s lives and the humiliation and public shaming gave him cancer which he died from.

I find when I love people through God, my capacity for both pain and happiness is limited and my anxiety is non existent.
