A lesson I learned about the inability to forgive

I had a dream where God told me the reason some people cannot forgive others is that they do not respect God’s people so God punishes them for their lack of respect for His people by disabling their ability to forgive others.

That seems counterproductive. If god loves all his children, wouldn’t it be better to give them every opportunity and all the tools they need to be good people so they could join him in heaven?

Okay... But I'm not a believer of god and I've managed to forgive my mother who abandoned me, used me, beat me, she's now dead so that makes it easier but I did forgive her beforehand.

Forgiveness isn't on your expected timetable, for some it takes a longer.
