I personally believe that many religious followers bring on a lot of negativity as they refuse to accept that many people dont believe or require proof of what is accepted within religious faiths, plus from what i have seen over the years different religions tend to attack other beliefs and believe their own religion and beliefs must be the only one therefore nothing else should exist... that goes for people who believe in science over religion too
if you are not of the thought or belief that x religion is correct you are not human or you are not a good person... it is this that alienates others and creates toxic views against followers
also when we get it rammed down our throats of what to believe and how to think, we want to believe what we want I choose to believe in science and reality but have been attacked by aggressive religious people over the years cos i refused to follow their ways...
teh lack of acceptance of others is a huge concern...
this is why religion any belief is met with negativity
that and in each religion you have extremists who twist their belief to suit or satiate their lust for violence

I am not against Christians but current condition of Christianity as its allowed them to make Jokes but other religion have kind of provide less to no opportunity for this fun behaviour.
Why Muslims must have it han?
So you will be happy if they dis-respect both religions equally, its the one of the reason for this behaviour. I mean other religions like Islam have direct connection to the things they do or in their Holy books its clearly mentioned to follow the procedure but there is no evidence to pop current confessing and the whole cross praying thing in bible and the whole papacy thing is built up by humans and their influence in current bible king Alfoso version is clear and it allows human error to.
Because as an atheist I don’t like religion, I don’t like God nor do I respect religion. I solely respect you’re right to have a religion but It doesn’t mean I have to respect you’re religion. Don’t worry I hate Islam just a much as Christianity. What you don’t understand is us atheist we are not encouraged to speak our opinions on religion yet we cannot go through one day without religion being forced in our faces one way or another so it make some atheists become very frustrated.
Do you feel you are just entitled to respect? What am and I allowed and not allowed to say? And why are you the arbiter of those things?
The reason I focus primarily on Christianity is because it's closest to home - I don't know half as many Muslims, or Jews or Hindu's or whatver else.
However most of my criticisms of God X could apply to any other deity, depending on the specifics of the god (s) in question.
So you complain about atheists making fun of your beliefs, but follow it up with memes making fun of atheists.

I agree that there are atheists who are too aggressive against religion, but I think it really shows how they view societal change more than it shows their views on belief/lack of belief in God/gods. They feel they need to push change and make their views dominant in the world for the good of humanity. I am an atheist and I disagree. Simple free flow of information and culture that encourages curiosity and critical thought is a much healthier way change the world.
However, I can understand why some atheists are angry at religion. As an atheist, I am frequently told that I have no moral character beyond what has been passed on by my religious forefathers. I would argue that this is probably more offensive and personal than what all but the most extreme militant atheists would be willing to say.I used to be atheist til I converted to Buddhism recently but nonetheless I was raised in a Christian household with a die hard Christian mother who became a minister.
Even when I agreed I was atheist, I had plenty of problems with the religion as a concept but I still respected people’s opinions on it because it’s what makes them happy, I just disagree when those individuals take their religion too far and try to push their religion as the “best” or the “correct “ one which are commonly Christians.
I won’t bash it but I do feel the urge to tell Christian/ Muslim/ etc any follower of a religion to respect others choices or I will prove you wrong which will sting your pride and faith.
I just want people to respect each other’s choices and live your life with love and understandingI am atheist and I respect anyone's right to follow whatever religious belief they choose provided they don't cause harm to others.
What I despise, as an atheist, is that people of religious persuasions expect me to conform to whatever moral standards their religion dictates.
I also find that some religious groups have people that accost others going about their lawful business in order to convert them. I don't accost people to push my views on them so why should these religious people accost me? When I say I'm an atheist, they tell me I'm wrong and get animated with me.
Respect goes two ways. I view all religion as superstition (that's my view and I respect that those with religious beliefs don't accept their religion as superstition) and my belief is no less valid than those of religious people.in my opinion respect is earned, and when you tell me that you believe that there is a God that watches 7.2 billion people in their every day lives and if you do good, good will happen to you in return I get to laugh at you. "God is love" really? then explain child cancer, walk in hospital and i dare you to maintain that speech in front of CHILDREN that did no wrong but were born with cancer... no we aren't offensive, we're simply sick of people asking for respect when they don't deserve it
Some more active fringe groups will take only the bad and run with it, while I am not a religious person I am in know way arrogant enough to assume that I know the great truths of the universe; rather I am perfectly content to wait and see what comes after if anything.
They're no more disrespectful than their militant theist counterparts.
That's part of being militant. An atheist is someone who denies the existence of God. To him, everyone who practises any form of religion is deluded. Therefore if your "friends" bash only Christianity, they're not really atheistic. They're simply anti-Christian.

People are allowed to say your religion is a sham the same way u can say they will go hell
As a Christian, would you give up your place in heaven, if god allowed it for you, so that an atheist could see god and enjoy heaven?
I'm atheist, but no militant. I just want to be left alone in peace.
I think militant Atheists are disrespectful too.
